AR/Dev/Epic...?

Sneaking up on the Epics with my AR/Dev Blaster.

A few questions...

- Munitions Mastery fits the concept pretty damn well... is Cryo Freeze any good? (Will have Vanguard medal by this time to help for special occasions)

- ...or is the potentially aggro-causing Sleep Grenade better?

- Body Armour sounds best shield power as it doesn't burn END... am I right?

- Any other Blaster Epics that match up?

Body aromr is less powerful than other shields, but is auto power. I have not tested cryo ray but I'd think it's decent. Also, LRM is a power you rarely see, but all I've heard about it is positive. I'd definitely go for munitions unless you want to tank, since it fits conseptually and the animations use the omnigun which you're already carrying around.

Don't know much about the other blaster epics but I've enjoyed Munitions.

- Body armour gives around 12% S/L res when 3-slotted
- Cryo Freeze Ray is a great sounding, looking and fun hold.
- Did not get Sleep Grenade... make of that what you will...
- LRM is a fantastic knockback power and does very decent damage.

A fun pool that I'd recommend.

Force

Suits AR/dev abit, since it has no 'element'. Making a device that creates the shields around you would be the RP reason, TI gives nice resist 22% slotted iirc.
PFF or repulsion field, i gues you know them. (havent tried repulsion in PvP, dont know if its any good).
Force of Nature, what to say, become a tanker for a while

So its either munitions or force i would say.

I always found CFR to be more useful than Sleep Grenade - Sleeps don't work too well with the AoEs in AR. Body Armor helps to take the sting out of most attacks, too.

Just make sure to pick up LRM, okay?

Body armour a low res to smash and lethal passive just 8%base but whilst your being hit by all the other damagetypes its a wasted power choice, good though that its a passive.

Cryo freeze ray a really nice hold to have good recharge too once its slotted well to hold 2 foes at once easy.

Sleep grenade will drop toggles of any "squishie" so thats like acrobatics down now hit with a hold "cryo freeze ray" but then you could do that with beanbag but not against some corrupters and masterminds. Also in pve in a omg situation its your mass hypnosis power.

LRM is a long range M30 grenade but with almost 3 times more punch and sniper like range and interruptability. Should hit 10 with almost the damage of snipe.

The mezz attack powers are of disappointing of low duration in PvP imo a tad too low leaving PvP more down to the taking and giving damage.

Considering ar/devs toggle dropping powers are in the mines and timebomb, sleep grenade is nice.

Just realised why Body Armour is a GREAT power choice - as it's a passive, it can't be detoggled by Nemis, Malties, or Stalkers A toggle power might have better resistance but doesn't do you any good when Stunned or Held, which is a routine part of your average blaster's life.

Most damage types are Smashing/Lethal/ and another (e.g Fire, Toxic)

his means that Body armour will probably do you some good, even againast psionic attacks, as they can be smashing/psionic

slotted with range you get 2 awesome snipes (one AOE) which are insane when defiancing, imaging wiping a squad of villain squishies.....Just saying....

Me again.

With the Freespec approaching, I'm deciding on what to 'spec in and out.

Current build and ideas...

Jump Kick - swapping for Air Superiority
Super Jump - swapping for Fly

Cloaking Device

Ignite - Swapping for Beanbag
Trip Mine

Full Auto
Hasten
Auto Turret
Body Armor

Swapping SJ for Fly: yes, it's slow and chews up 3 slots for speed, but I've been slapped down one too many times by placing a jump JUST into Nemesis range.

Really Ignite is the only power I'm unhappy with. I'd very much like to sneak Taser in there too for the Boss Mezz Combo. Caltrops are essential for Telemining so victim can't escape, so it's down to...

- Burst: nice for DEF debuff and "out of END" moments.
- Buckshot: handy knockback for those "Argh get away" moments.

Would appreciate your thoughts.
