How can a stalker not be seen in PvP?

Hmm caltrops always cuts through me, good way of avoiding this?

Just want something that won't make we visible once an AoE is fired.

Caltrops are auto-hit. If you are hit, Hide is dropped. The only way to avoid this is to not go near the caltrops.

For non-auto-hit AoEs, slot up your Hide with def SOs. It's not a surefire way to avoid them, but it's your best chance.

A final alternative is to take Fly and AS people while hovering above them.

It's also possible to perform 'drivebys' if you have SS, simply jumping at the last moment while moving, but staying within head height of your enemy. Your accuracy may be reduced by 50%, but I've taken down people who I would 'never' be able to take down otherwise. Surprizingly effective if you Build up first and are then hitting for critial from hide.

doesnt work, the aoe isnt located just to the graphic, more so it is a spherical aoe so even if you were floating above the ground you would still be getting hit by mud pots, caltrops etc etc.

best bet is to take spines

Or TP Foe them away from location AoEs, granted, wont help with toggle PBAoEs, but its another option.

Can be done by using Phase Shift -> wait until you're Hidden again -> PS off -> Attack (which will critical).

I know this is of little interest to any non regen stalkers but Dull Pain will allow you to remain hidden even when you take damage.

I suspect the above "Trick" wont be around for long if that is the case.

Such is an AoE that it is hard to defend against. A few sets Iam thinking of SR-NJ (?) do have powers that guard against AoEs hitting.

Caltrops though is an auto-hit DoT and thus cannot be guarded against.

Not so much a "trick" as an intended part of regen as all the other sets get ways to help hide, (SR gets defence from AoE, nin gets smoke bomb, regen gets dull pain )

Sadly at this moment, over this topic I must agree with you.

How on earth does boosting your health (Yeah its not what it does in RP sense but thats what it does power wise) make you immune to caltrop damage?

Now integration I could udnerstand as you and your body become.. 1.. so to speak..

Ya know you could focus your movement etc..

Gah made sense to me.

Wouldnt roll regen for a Stalker anyways, but thats a diffrent arguement.

Not that powers have to have RP value but it has fantastic RP value. Hide is knocked off by damage so you can take it that damage makes the stalker lose concentration for 10seconds and becomes visable. Dull Pain however dulls the pain so he doesnt. After a number of hits though even with Dull Pain the stalker loses hide so it looks like this is exactly how the devs were thinking.

Well, many Stalkers make the mistake of playing more like a Scrapper. You should play...Like a RL Stalker. I normally stay up high on buildings, following my target. This rule applies especially to teams with Anti Stalkers/Stalker Hunter devices (eg hurricane, leadership, bubbles), then, when one strays from the group, jump down, build up, BAM. You must always pick your time wisely.
