Fire Rad Soloing
Hi Ashen.
Yeah I've a level 16 Fire / Rad doing the exact same thing at the mo. Was clearing blue council mobs from Boomtown yesterday for a while. I actually go with : AM, Hotfeet, Flashfire to open combat, Fire Cages and toddle in, holding anyone thats not disorientated as I go. Then RI on one lieut and start bashing the second with Air Sup.
My build is basically the same but with Air Sup taken at 10 and Fly at 14. Air Sup is great with Containment and makes soloing missions much less End intensive given the smaller enemy spawns. In missions I rarely use Hotfeet unless theres more than 4 or 5 enemies.
I'm thinking of getting Choking Cloud in my 20s at some point too. I know its an End hog but I like the idea of the PBAOE nastiness that would be choking cloud & hotfeet.
I also can't wait until level 21 and Zombie bashing in DA
Why bother with Mutation if you are just going to solo? I would take Hasten or Acrobatics instead. I would also put a couple of recharges in Imps. Just in case they get wasted you can get them back out quickly. Bonfire makes a nice anti-melee zone to keep you safe too. If I solo'd more I would also slot my heal for Health and Recharge useful for me and the Imps. Hurdle and Combat Jumping - I took swift instead. One SO in Sprint, Combat Jumping and Swift makes me quite maneouverable in missions. Not an end hog either. I found that one endred in hotfeet was enough to run it constantly with no noticeable effect on endurance. Enervating field on the other hand I would 3 slot endred.
This is quite similar to my build which wasn't perfect for playing solo. I could certainly solo but it was slow. Bosses were a real problem as they needed two applications of Char to hold.
Wonder if this tactic of soloing till the early 20's could work for fire/kin aswell

Should do easily, I only occasionally have need of Radiant Infection when hunting them and a kinetics should be able to heal back any extra damage since they'll be in melee anyway.
Plus you should have Siphon Power double / triple stacked most of the time. Nasty
My guess is that it could work, but it would be a bit riskier than for a fire/rad. First of all you don't have the 3 debuffs. Secondly, you don't have AM which helps a lot with +dmg and +endrecov. Finally, your heal and the 2 siphons can miss since you probably won't have more than 1 acc enhancement in them (and not many rechgs, so not much stacking) and these will probably be DOs.

Siphion Speed covers the recharge, so its not so bad, if it hits that is

Exactly. But triple-stacked Siphon Power "most of the time" in the low-20s? Even with Hasten, I'm a bit doubtful.

To be honest you should be fine. You'll probably need a little bit more resting than the Rad version but you should be well able. I actually was stuck between Fire / Rad & Fire / Kin when I was creating Mal. Chose Rad because although Kin will probably be more lethal at 38+ Rad will have an easier time getting there.
One good tip is to start your street hunting in the Hollows. Why? Because you can constantly load up on Blue & Red insps from the contacts in there. Start with Wincott and clear the 6+s from around the Atlas gate. Then get Flux as a contact and do the same around his area for the higher levels. In Galaxy I had a contact just outside the Perez gate who provided the same service.
Once you get going you can rely on a constant stream of new insps from the carnage, just pop / delete any lesser ones (non blues & reds basically).

Yes, it's possible, but my guess is that very few people have such a build in the low 20's. If you can squeeze in Tactics by 22, you must be missing something somewhere. Or 5 slots on either Siphon by this level? Surely these can be better used on your primaries.

Thank for the comments. The main reason i went for Mutation was that maybe after 33 when i get my imps slotted i can use them to take aggro away from me in large team missions. I dont solo ALL the time. I encountered problems on large teams as the only troller where i grab too much aggro & faceplant often. Different on teams with another troller or 2 eg Grav or Earth, we dont have aggro problems then. Maybe i can find 2 more slots for the imps for recharge, 1 from hot feet probably

To be honest at that low a level whether its double or triple Siphon Power doesn't matter too much does it?
I reckon Fire / Kin would start having problems in the early 20s trying to continue this soloing. Plus of course there's the question on why a */Kinetics would even be soloing? Especially once they hit 20 and can start handing the Speed Boosts out.

Fully agree . The 20s are much better if you team a lot. Now after you get your imps, you can safely solo again if you really want to (even on Invincible, if you're careful, of course). But then again, teaming is (usually) more fun anyway .
PS: I haven't bothered with a recharge on my imps: I find that if/when one dies (or when you zone), they are usually ready to be summoned again.

Greets to all fellow trollers & to those of you who are thinking of playing one
I starting my Fire/Rad a week ago & while while trawling the US forums found a build which was exactly the same as mine up to lvl 8. Being somewhat lazy i pondered the rest of the build & decided to copy it as it made lots of sense to me.
So far i'm lvl 18 & have mostly worked solo in Hazard Zones (well after Hot Feet at 8).
Up to 8, its was mostly team play but then i found this:-
Accelerated Metabolism if available, Radiaion Infection, Fire Cages, run into mob & switch on Hot Feet, Char any Lts. Reapply Fire Cages & chars when you need to. I've used this tactic from 8 to 18 with no probs fighting mobs sizes of 8-12 at -1,-2 to my lvl. As long as the mobs are packed together they all get debuffed by RI & caught in Fire Cages.
The reason for fighting mobs lower than you is the amount of inspirations dropped meaning you can have 4 or more up all the time Plus u get more enhancment drops for less xp meaning more influence Dont worry about the lesser xp, remember you're fighting big mobs so it lvls you fast enough
WHERE TO SOLO
As soon as you hit lvl 8 head to Perez Park, where you can bash Hellions & Skulls 'til Lvl 12.
At 12, Boomtown beckons with nicely ordered rows of council near the gate. This should get you to 15 or 16.
Then, staying in Boomtown, you can start fighting Lost, which go up to lvl 18 or 19. Should be able to get to 21 from this area.
Not that i've got to 21 yet, but as soon as i hit it, i know where i'm going. Yes, thats right, Dark Astoria !!! Banished Pantheons weak to fire, gimme gimeme gimme
As a side note, i did try Faultline but Vahz & CoT made life a misery so back to Boomtown i went (too many bosses spawn in the groups there)
Well, i hope this makes life a little easier for ppl who dont relish the long road to 32 & Fire Imps.
What, the build? Oh go on then
