Either immob from range and TP Foe or TP them onto something like Caltrops. (or a biiig pile of mines... /em muhahahahhaahahaah etc)
Is it time for the dance of joy yet?
Hey Gani,
Aye was more looking at ideas, of how to balance sirens a little and try make it more fun for everyone. Number of times I see/hear folks go into sirens to try some pvp and leave a little while later because either
a) There are a handful of heroes and a bazillion villains standing outside their base.
b) There are a handful of villains and a bazillion heroes standing outside their base.
Certainly from my point of view, and those of other players I have spoken to, thats not much fun for anyone.Sure that most folks would agree that we would all like to see more people in sirens, so we can be kill/killed by some new faces.
Temp powers might work, but would need a cool down period if one side stops being drastically larger in numbers, or perhaps a power that scales beased on the differential between the sides. Doing nothing if sides are within a set amount.
Did think about maybe limiting entry if one side more than doubles the other down to a minimum of 8. Eg 8 heroes (1 full team) could zone in with no one to oppose them. However no one from that side could zone in until at least 5 villains zone in. At which point up to 2 more heroes could come in making it 10 v 5. Only issue here is that either end up with multiple sirens instances with low populations , or you end up in one and your mate ends up in another.
Wow this is a really long post for this time in the morning........musta been more coffee in that cup than I thought!
I think that if "pvp" missions are to truely live up to their name, their needs to be someway to oppose them, so that they are not the easy xp farming they currently are. After all you can make it to the mission before you invulnerability timer runs out. There is only risk from mobs getting you, and you are buffing/debuffing all folks outside, however not yourself while in the mission.
But this was all meant for a general chat between folks that PvP, I understand that a small army of invading mobs to help the outnumbered side isnt a great solution but was somewhere to start
I dont like the idea of stopping new people coming into an already unbalanced zone, simply because I dont want to be standing outside like a gooseberry
Also, what happens if the sides are balanced and a load of villains leave? Do the last few heroes who entered get chucked out?
The idea of pets to help out sounds good, it could change the flavour of the zone a little bit too much though, and it sounds like we'l have super pets in recluses victory.
I've noticed that when one side is balanced, if you wait 20-30 minutes, chances are things will improve. Some method of rewarding people for sticking around through the tough times might help out. Simply surviving in an 8 to 1 situation is pretty tough, maybe some pvp missions for the outnumbered side, where the goal is simply to survive in sirens.
Eg. "deliver this bug to our spy on the hero/villain faction, if successful, we may be able replicate there powers for a short time". So you have a courier mission resulting in a temp power.
Could prolly have something like an assasination mission on a mob too. The point is, easy missions which force outnumbered players out of there base, with the reward of becoming more powerful for a better chance against the players in the zone.

It always brings a big smile to my face when villains try TP Foeing me onto Caltrops or Tar Patch... and failing to succeed because I was midjump .
I don't think there's a problem with Siren's the way it is even though I think the original poster's idea's are interesting. If more people actually fought there rather than b*tching it might make it more fun for everyone involved.

Hmmm the idea of pvp mission that just run outdoors in the zone might work much better. Still lots of xp, but if they are timed courrier/kill missions they would be a lot better.
As I said before though, amd just spouting ideas to get ball rolling. Just seems to me at present things arent really working as they are.

Humm i don't agree with all of this as it could lead to more elitism and alienation and make some of the worst excess of pvp more prevalent. It would be better to help those who have difficulties in pvp than give rewards to those that simply don't need them, why not give those that do well more of a challenge.
a full lvl50 toon build PVP like sirens...
only for lvl 50's
cause imho it is no fun to put all the works in to a toon and get back to lower lvl in PVP..
imagine: TEKKEN tournament style online.... with full build lvl50 toons...
