Regen/Resilience - worth having?
Hmmm, for PvP maybe, I dont know, but a bit of a waste in PvE IMO.

Jumping into and taking the alpha strike from too large a group without using dull pain and instant healing usually does it for me
Defiant 50s: Generalissimo, Righteous Bob, Splortch, Brutus Cayuga
Union 50's: Chimera Obscura, Diet Anthracite, Grim Proctologist, Puny Little Minion, Raging Bitumen
In Soviet Russia, mission farm you!
Ah............. Yeah that would do it. If DP and IH are down I tend to use provoke and hide away, so there's no big alpha, then Invoke Panic after and start wading through slowly. Damn me and my presense pool

Take it, Hold it, Love it.
Great power, saves a lot on the purple inspirations.
Am I right in thinking... Vaz, DE, Hydra and some other monster's do Toxic?
Not forgetting the protection vs Lethal/Smashing.
K
I didn't think the DE did Toxic? I know Vaz, Lost, Hydra and Rikti certainly do.
As for Resilience, it's normally used as an 'if you've got a spare power slot' pick - most people take it because it allows you to shake off the awaken / revive disorient very quickly.
Of course, if you team with Rad/Emp/Dark Defenders all the time it's probably of no concern.

Having played my SR a bit more recently, I've seen more Regen scrappers die in the 44 - 46 range than just about any other powerset. It surprised me too, but I guess there's just a lot of crappy Regens out there.

Well ya know its hard when you dont have an uber power to call upon... *cough cough* Elude.
More seriously though, It could well be somthing to do with mob types/damage types. A lot of the 44-46 game is against DoT damage, cancelling out regen's affect..
K
Er, Revive doesn't have a disorient.
I think Resilience is decent in PvE, especially combined with Tough. Not great or essential, but a nice bonus to have for little investment. I think the reason its resist numbers are so low is because any damage resistance at all has a sort of multiplicative effect for Regen if you look at sustainable damage over time, which is our strong side anyway.

Maybe you shouldn't jump to conclusions about my playstyle, thanks. I barely ever use Elude in teams these days - the main occasions in which I do use it are when a) I need extra endurance, or b) when I'm bored and feel like taking on those two big groups over there on my own - Elude, Shockwave, hilarity ensues.

Ya know for a while there I was considering following your example and getting all defensive, But I though, nah not worth it.
Revive I have not taken for a few reasons.
There are better powers.
I dont plan on dying.
On my team normally atleast someone can res.
Also If i do die, its normally at the foot of some big ugly mob, that will swiftly destroy me before I can click on my toggles.
K
If you're planning to PvP Resilience is a must, with all the stun effects you can have stacked at once, if you get toggle dropped of Integration at least you'll have that bit of res to Disorient.
Thanks for all the input, most helpful. From what you're all saying seems that Resilience doesn't have a great deal to offer me in PvE. I don't do PvP at all, so it looks like I'm not missing much by not taking it - cheers.
I dont have a PvP build but I am thinking resiliance has its purpose in even PvE. I used to have it at one point. If your toggles drop it really can help.
Also Regens are not immortal as some elitists may claim. So when using an awaken it lessens the time of stun and helps you get back in.

Not going into peoples playstyles but I notice alot of scrappers die because they wade in and slug it out. In facty alot of players die no matter what AT because they dont back out when in trouble. Regen clearly has an advantage here as you can dart in and out pummeling enemies and backing off. But thus tactic is not solely restricted to regen .
I'd appreciate any advice/input from experienced /Regen scrappers please. I'm curious about the pros and cons of Resilience - am I right in thinking it's main purpose is to give you resistance vs Disorient? Since I've had Integration I don't think I've ever suffered from any Disorient status effects, so is it really much use?
The description also mentions some resistances to smash and I think lethal... and toxic damage (how many opponents do toxic damage?) I'd expect this to be a relatively small amount as I believe Resilience is an 'always on' power and that seems to be the way they're handled. Again, worthwhile or not really?
Anything I've overlooked, any good reasons to take or to avoid taking the power?
TIA
