Claws changes in I7?
*wonders if it has something to do with the rather long thread posted on the US forums some time ago, in which the poster proved that the endurance discount Claws was given due to its lower damage was not enough of a discount to put it in line with the other Scrapper primaries (or something like that*
Whatever it is, I'll look forward to finding out just what it is .
i have seen that post i also have seen a post about all slash and lethal sets being a bit naff pve wise in comparison to other damage types due to what villains mainly resist. slash and lethal i believe is the most commonly resisted damage type.

Nice, claws could use an improvement. Either they improeve the dmange a bit or just shorten the animations for swipe and slash.
I hope the second one will be the case (well I hope they are going to improve claws with I7 at all).
some sort of bleed DoT on every attack would be good
@ExtraGonk
I'm sure I read (And I'm positive either Bridger or Rockjaw mentioned it over here too) that Claws actually outdamages all other sets in terms of DPS, due to the speed of the attacks?
Be interesting to see what the changes are? Perhaps adding a secondary effect, as has been mentioned.

I'm certainly sure that claws don't outdamage any set in terms of DPS.
Teamed with my Claws/Regen Scrapper (yeah I'm Wolverine fan, so what? ) with an MA/Regen and a Katana/Regen once. Was a fun team.
While I killed one mob, they each killed 2 or 3 in the time. The only advantage I had was, that my endurance didn't drain, while they needed rests between the fights.
Maybe in a very long battle I can achieve the same DPS. But if they stamina or a teammate with RA, my main advantage is gone.
Lets see what I7 will bring us.
If you've got some time, there's some interesting dicussion here about it. Lots of hints that the set is getting buffed without any real information.
Perhaps I misunderstood what I'd heard and that it was the 'currently testing' version of Claws that out-damages all other sets.
I'd be happy if they cut the animation times in half. That'd make the [censored] attacks not quite so [censored]

Thanks for the link.
I fail to remember where the thread is, but Castle (I think) was quoted as saying that he had made some changes to Clwas and they were much better. Unfortunately, they were so much better that they couldn't stay like that.
I believe he suggested that the overall DPS of the set was about 20% better than any other scrapper primary, and, of course, Claws is low cost. The ringing screams of "UNFAIR" would probably deafen the planet were that to be brought in.
Apparently, Claws needs more work still.
Disclaimer: The above may be humerous, or at least may be an attempt at humour. Try reading it that way.

From the gist I would say Castle shortened the animations.
I really should do something about this signature.

Then you'll be happy.
There will be one new animation, one changed animation and one 'borrowed' imagination; the powers effected will be Slash, Swipe and I forget the other one now.

Some changes to Claws are due in Issue #7, I believe, but they're not yet finalised - as Castle recently confirmed:
Only problem at this point? With the changes I made, Claws is now the best sustained DPS available. While it still lacks the burst damage that other sets have, it's too much better (~30%) than other stalker sets. I'm almost afraid to run the numbers for Scrappers.
So, I'll be making a few tweaks here and there to keep it a bit more in line with other sets.

Bridger is the dps taking into account the multiple hits and adding them all up. What i hope _castle_ takes into account is that dps is only really going to happen pve and not pvp (why?) because people aint so stupid as to huddle up for my claws scrapper.

as a clawed scrapper i'm in two minds about this.
changes would be nice, its frustrating to have long animation times, i can hit evicerate at the same time as the level 30 MA kick (who's name i forget) and they will hit first, do more damage and be smug. i dropped slash and strike in a respec and have never looked back, swipe is nice and quick and does reasonable damage.
on the other hand, i can just run and run and run in missions, triple slotted stamina, a heavy slotted invun secondary and one or even two (yes two) end reductions in my attacks mean while my damage is useless in PvP in most PvE situations, even against +2/+3 targets i can just keep going and going without ever coming close to losing so much end my toggles drop. if claws got changed to higher damage, higher end i'd be kinda upset, it'd take away the uniqueness of the set and force people such as myself into a different playstyle altogether.
Historic evidence would seem to indicate that Claws is about to be utterly nerfed.
Remember when they were 'Looking' at Controllers?

Except we know they're going to be buffed
...and I'm not sure how claws could be nerfed anyway

I doubt that the will make a high dmg, high end cost power out of claws.
Its just that some people showed that the benefits we get (lower end cost) is not high enough for the low dmg we are dealing.
So they could either increase the endurance bonus a bit (which would be silly, because the endurance cost is low enough) or give us just a bit more dmg by either just raising the dmg a bit or shortening some animations (which is what I hope they'll do).
A rather cryptic message from _Castle_ in a claws/regen build advice thread:
[ QUOTE ]
You *might* want to wait 'til after I7 for that respec. Call it a hunch.
Edit: Less Cryptic: Something I mentioned I was working on a while back will likely be in I7.

Interesting, as he said he'd be looking at Claws...
