Like I said in the first message of this board, 8 man matches means a max of 2 same AT. (no team with 8 scrappers or no team with 3 or 4 trollers for example).
It gives an tactical diversity and allow everyone to have the opportunity to play his toons with pals.

True and false.
If you look carefully some build are used more often than other, that is absolutely true. Because some are more efficient than other or have very specific powers that give them an important role to play in a team. Strom troller offer a cover to his teammates (offered should I say ), energy attacks are pure violence, ans so on.
So they are very attractive to pvp players. But there is a craze about it too. Like you say when you see players like KnightStalker, or Gatling or ShamanX (for example) you can see that they can be very efficent with builds and game play that a few times ago we would have considered as weird on Vigilance.
And if you look carefully on my troller, which is a storm (sorry for that ), I got an ice epic, none of our defenders have an psi epic, Jenny played tankers which have no energy attacks,etc.
In my opinion, the question every pvp player has to answer is :" how can I be usefull to my team and what role will I have to play within ?"
Like Taki said a xxx/ice blaster, is not gimp. He will have less play options than a xxx/nrj cause he does not have the nrj self buffs and will certainlly be less violent in a blapper role, but he's got controlling options through the snare effect of ice. Different playing modes are possible, I guess CoX is a young pvp game, and we still have strategies to discover. And if some powers are popular nowadays, some still have to be discovered and with time a balance will be set between power choices.
Btw LNM is about to finish a reroll session of pvp toons, coming soon in our test arena, on monday !

never in a million years wud i pick psi mastery on my defender and in that match knight stalker was the only one out of the whole team that i had to use absorb pain on, neither squishy needed it but the regen did (just thought i'd say that to keep his ego in check lol)
