Mastermind AI Issues (22 Jan)

On a freak mission I discovered that if you don't wait around for them to rez and move on, occasionally as you order them to attack an enemy they will run all the way back to the newly rezzed freak.

Frustrating to say the least.

This COULD be WAI...

If ordered to stay, and if you get too far away from them (travel power or something), they get "teleported" to you. OK, this is OK. But AFTER that teleport, they loose the "stay" command, and will follow you around until the command is given again.

I'm sure it's a bug because they don;t come back even if you spam the "heel" bind - they only come back to you after one attack on the rezzed freak

Hi, I Just wanted to add another voice to the Robot problems. My bots also keep getting stuck coming out of lifts, but it isn't just my Assault Bot anymore. I now have to do a head count every time I leave a lift area ("Right I've taken a few steps... 1,2,3,4,5... Oh pooh! Who's missing, Battle bot 1,2,3 Protector 1 Ah! protector 2's not here... Click on protector 2, TP Friend (all of 5 steps away) and bob's your uncle...) And if I forget then the first time I notice is when my bots health is plumetting and I'm wondering why... Oh Yes! Chronos has decided that he'd rather watch the pretty lights at the lift... again!

Then there's the whole running around a sewer, only to find that your pets have decided that they want to go their own way, and you're up that proverbial creek desperately searching for a paddle that doesn't exist!

The portals are also a biggie, and is it just me or are the pets really beginning to love bringing you "friends" that you really don't want to see just yet (especially when there's 5 or 6 mobs of them)

And finally, it's not an AI issue, but I /bugged this back in Beta, and they still haven't fixed it. Merc's still say "Saftey's off" when they so obviously mean Safety, surely changing the spelling in one word wouldn't take up more than a few minutes dev time (even factoring in time to get a rancid coffee machine coffee?)

Sorry to rant but these things are beginning to get up my nose a bit!

Defensive/Follow Team Aggro
This is a new one I've started to encounter when on teams, and usually with Masterminds aboard as well. I can be apart from the team completely, with no mobs nearby but if my team engages some distant mobs my henchmen will suddenly decide they need to get some action too and start heading towards them.

I expect this may be due to other henchmen classing as allies in the same way they respond to each other being attacked.

They're my henchmen, and should only be responding to direct threats to themselves or myself. Under these circumstances, they should just stay put.

Thankgods it's not just me thats noticed this occuring over and again lately. seems the AI suddenly went went nuts overnight and it's become a nightmare to control them. As soon as summoned they run off, and no ammount of calling for them to heel seems to work to keep them under control. I'm sure they weren't acting as badly as this until very recently, but right now they've become something of a nuisance, especially when they trail along merrily aggroing mobs as they do on their way to allies.

I will add to the pet stupid gene comments. I have one grave knight, and it is always the same one. That likes to dance with the enemy. He runs up to them and then jigs backwards and forwards before the rest of the pets take it out. Doesn't matter if he is the first one there or the last one there. He is also the pet that likes to bring gifts. An enraged spawn, a miffed boss and on one occasion an annoyed hero. He just takes off, belts them once then comes running back to me. Regardless of if I issue commands or not.

I met the same problem while there was only one MM (me ) in the team.

Interesting... could there be a holdover from henchmen classing other AI mobs as allies?

Was it a mission where two groups of mobs were fighting and causing actual damage to each other or an object? (rather than just being an animation)

Same problem for me... but the strange thing is this: my MM is level 40 and I never encountered this problem on my way to level 40, I am pretty sure about this. But then, a couple of mights ago, I felt like playing my MM again after a month or two of inactivity. Commands worked fine til another MM entered the team - pets went crazy. After some missions the other MM left team, pets were fine again and obeyed my commands... :P Very annoying.

And don't get me started over the CoT maps! How hard could it be to code the pets follow me in a line, exactly the route I choose? No... they all wanna come in one big mob, jumping and competing to be the first to follow me. Result is they fall down from ledges etc. And the "No I don't wanna go through the portral, I'll just try another route to my master"-thing... grrrr!

Yeah, I've noticed that with another bots-MM in team my bots will suddenly start to follow that MM around. I have to repeatedly issue heel-commands so they'll keep to me when navigating around the map... veeeery annoying
