Hi Lodestar , as a Villain we met a few times last night as i was defending our base from your "Heroic" onslaught 
My first go on PvP and i had more fun than i would have thought possible. Lag was a bit of a downer at times but hardly unexpected so i didn't let it bother me at all and i didn't think dieing so often would be such a blast but it was.
It helped in my case as most of my SG were Heroes and as the only Villain it was a bit of a cat and mouse game by me being deliberitly targeted by them all the time and a great laugh on the coalition chat channel.
I did learn that my toon is certainly not geared or slotted for PvP as my Dominator holds hardly slowed anyone down throughout the night long after the Break Frees should have run out.
Don't think i'll play much in PvP as an individual but would take part in another event like this one.
The whole event weas a great idea and it was unfortunate that lag got in the way.
As a villain, I killed/help killed a lot of heroes and got faceplanted the same number of times (got held then scrapped to death, damn you controllers! -shakes fist-). We were seriously outnumbered, but overall I had a lot of fun
I have to say though, a lot of my kills and deaths would not happen in normal circumstances. I managed to kill a few defenders and controllers, but only because they didnt move from their spot and I can pretty much bet they would have done something about it the lag wasn't in the way. Then again I think most players were in the same situation.
Although saying this, if this was your first PvP event, try visiting Siren's Call on a regular basis, usually there's no lag at all, a lot fewer heroes and villains, but there is something going on most of the time. It's a good time to practise your PvP ideas and tactics and most Heroes/Villains are pretty friendly.

Ooh Black Orchid, I remember that name from last night (pvp that is, ahem)! That's one thing I really enjoyed was seeing names from the forums
Great fun altogether, although I was being one of the pain-in-the-[censored] controllers dumping holds and storms on people from above.
Got rightly TP foed and ganked for it too when the villains formed a defensive area and started nabbing me from afar for a frank and earnest exchange of views.
Saw a few forum names on the opposing side too. Black Orchid and Neo-Spawnus were two I remember. Mainly for killing me
Good fun but not a patch on PvE for me I'm afraid. A bit too chaotic a la Deathmatch Halflife. I'd prefer PvP more along the vein of Counterstrike which encourages more team-based tactical play.

It was way too chaotic, but I think that was the idea and the fun of it! You can certainly have some tactical PvP matches, and I really hope Bridger and Rockjaw put on another S4 next year where you can do just that

Hero Vs Villain wouldn't be all that good, I don't think. I could see some kind of two leg system working though, based on each team having both heroes and villains. It'd just mean more time as each match would have to be played twice.

Midway through I did get a badge now you mention it, but that might have been an exploration or something. I don't think the event itself gave anything other than laughs (or misery depending on how seriously you took it!)

Yes I remember Black Orchid. Got quite a hard time didnt you? But hey you got some in yourself. Was a bit unmatched and I eother tried going for one on one fights, got ganged up on or ran into a group. Later on as tyhe heroes packed up I tried scaling the hill near your defenses to taunt one or two of you down for a ruckass but you didnt seem up for it. Maybe figured I was up to no good.
No matter Im glad you enjoyed it and your holds werent that bad. My main vaiilan is a mind/psi dom and he will need work on his respec as its a new thing for me that Im just getting into it.
Lag was debilatating yes. I didnt make my mark on the PvP world really Im not built for it. But as I knew that I just went in for fun and fun I got. The battles still kept going on after but I found alot of heores left oddly enough and even I went. I may come back later though.
Stalkers had the upper hand sure. That said... few landed fatal blows due to my improv tactics. But yes Id say lag caused more fatalities than would normally been, being gnged up with lag was more hazardous than lone stalkers. I doubt it could be helped though.
I do appologise for speaking up about one tiny matter but I felt it had to be done. That was someone in all good humour I am sure made a comment saying something to the effect of "thats (banned coloquial term for homosexual)". I would have said nothing had there not been a thread the other day about someone getting upset about a similar issue. As I had showed my support to that complaint it would have been hypocritical not to warn that person we now take a stand against that kind of talk. Sorry to come across as a nanny type Im against so much PC stuff going over the top but I stand by what I said o that matter. I know it was a joke and not meant maliciously but we dont want a repeat of the incidnet earlier this week. I didnt mean to spoil anyones fun and I dont think I did.
I also noted anoter example of what Im seeing in respect to an elitsit attitude on the defiant server from some individuals. Its wearing my patience down to see lot of people and most of them are forum users to come on line and behave in a snooty, snotty and ignorant manner while claiming to come on to make friends.
Beleive it or not I actually had a great time and pushed the niggles aside. I only wish we could have had our pcs in the same room so we could look at each others happy laughing faces. I know I was laughing away even when whooped. Was as much a good community spirit there too. Hope you all had a great time and as much laughter as me.
