Right people I need some help... this SG has flourished very quickly and we need to sustain the momentum and the fun. We need to get a few things sorted.
Ranks. Someone give me some ideas on
1. what to call them.
2. how to give them.
As everyone knows I am somewhat involved in the Rangers which takes a lot of my time!
err.. one idea could be to go into the whole science thing and have ranks based on like protons, neutrons etc etc.. apart from that i've no idea

As we're RadRangers, how about: Alpha (grunt), Beta (squad leader) and Gamma (Chief emitter).
Don't know how many we got at the moment, but might want to promote some/all to squad leaders with invite rights so we can start recruiting new grunts w/o invite rights.
BTW, you were right - they are fun to play.

For Ranks I like the Alpha, Beta, Gamma, X-Ray, Neutron idea.
Cool, everyone already has invite privalges anyway.
There's been some request to us merging with the SNHS, whilst I understand this I am not overly keen on the idea.
So Ranking suggestions, if we're going with the greek lets stick with that if we're goin with science lets stick with that. Personally I prefer:
Alpha.
Beta.
Gamma.
Delta.
Epsilon.
Cause that ties in with my love of ancient greece and with the "everyone is as important as eachother" feel that I want this group to have.
The Alpha or the first citizens will be those with the highest prestige earnings, this gives you the right to build the base.
The other ranks are all equal and the titles a sign of contibution to the group so we will need to work out a level thing done by the prestige earned by members, that way those who are most active will be those who gain esteem in the group. This is only a rough guide but imagine it like this:
Alpha: 150001 Prestige (technically I am not an Alpha, I only am due to founding the group.)
Beta: 100001 - 150000
Gamma: 75001 - 100000
Delta: 50001 - 75000
Epislon: 0 - 50000
Base building (the main privalege) will be done on an Alpha basis, where there will be a vote between alphas what to purchase, then it will be taken in turns to create rooms.
We need to agree on a theme for the base though? I would like to aim for a Japanese/tech feel in the RadRangers base. Tranquility meets science.
Firstly we need a power room, then a control room, then a workshop, then med centre, then teleporter. Any alternates to this plan then please post them up here. (this is from having build the Rangers base.)
It doesn't matter if everyone becomes alphas, in fact that would be cool, but we need some structure in the democracy.
What do people think of this plan?
After writting this I don't know how we would fit in with the SNHS....
Wrayth reporting for duty I'll get him stuck in the RadRangers, but i am in desperate need of a respec, so will try to get him to 24 asap so i can run it. Then i guess i can leave him for a bit so the rest can catch up in lvls.

Bah! Too many alts. Flitz is 3 bars short of 39 and Lead needs a sack of prestige to get on the IoP raid (currently 42nd in the PR prestige stakes

Any news on this? Poor Nuklea's been lumbered with all her AoE attacks, so she doesn't solo too well. Roll on the next issue, then I can use the inevitable free respec to give her x-ray eye beams

Right... after the discussions of previous weeks and believing in the 1AT SG I have thought that merging with the SNHS, on condiditon of a Rad Ranger Rank would be of benefit to the whole coalition. ITs taken me a while to beat this out of myself but I think that the contribution we could give would be fantastic. You all know I was all for the Rads but I will adapt the backstory planned to fit in with this. What do people think? or have I just agreed with what you all thought anyway?
from a Rad Ranger point of view it doesnt bother me which SG i'm in.
from an SNHS leader view, then yes its fine by me to create a Rad Ranger rank. u never know, once our base is functionin the makeshift tanks may come in useful

I'd be glad to write down a few tips as soon as a get a chance, for now I'd say everything has its use, except possible fallout
.
The holy trinity on the rad emission side are RI, EF and LR (radiation infection, enervating field and lingering radiation) which can debuff accuracy, defence, damage resistance, movement speed and recharge speed basically reducing even the most deadly of AV's to a slightly less deadly AV.
Also since suppression no longer effects debuffs you can chase your prey if they run, especially if youve used LR they cant run far
Also on the emission side are 2 powers with side effects most people dont consider, AM (accelerate metabolism) aswell as boosting recharge and movement speed slightly and damage it also provides 100% resistance to endurance draining powers, and offers a reduction to the duration of status effects (holds/fears e.t.c wont last aslong on you) On the flipside EMP (empulse) whilst being an AoE hold that doesnt require a target to activate with a deadly duration (great for pulling a invised blaster out into the open) also has the mostly underestimated side effect of draining endurance properly slotted it can drain all the endurance from a group of minions and most LT's combined with buildup from the epic pools it can even drain alot from bosses.
As for the radiation blast side of thing Id separate things into 2 sides,
the AoE attacks, useful for your rad tanks, who go in plant debuffs and keep attention with the AoE attacks (irradiate, neutron bomb and to a lesser extent electron haze thou mind the knockback) whilst keeping lts/bosses out of a fight with a cosmic burst slotted for stun/disorientate, and your single target blasts (neutrino bolt, xray beam, and to a lesser extent proton volley ((which is a damage over time snipe the only one I believe)) NB is very fast, good for interrupting but does marginally less damage then xray beam which is slower but has a cooler animation.
Defenders with the single target attacks should pick off the enemys while the rad tank keeps em busy, also if you combine stealth/invis with cosmic burst you can sneak up and stun people practically before they see you.
And then theres atomic blast, some love it, some hate it, dreck uses it. Its a nova like any other but any one that survives will have there defence drastically lowered and will be held for a brief amount of time giving you a chance to pop a CaB and finish them.
Oh also radiant aura, great AoE heal slotted for heal, end reduction, and recharge reduction can help keep your rad tank alive or even yourself against overwhelming numbers, chocking cloud, some like it, good in pvp against melee attackers (the type rad/rads strongest attack) if you can knock just the right toggle they will get held, personally its hit/miss rate and hold duration combined with its massive end drain have never attracted me.
