Charged prestige to add personal item

Um what exactly is happening here? I made 2 items from salvage for the base (Mission Computer and Telepad) just out of curiosity.

When I placed these items I got the "bought for xxx prestige" message. I thought the whole point of salvage was being able to make items for the base without using prestige? I sold these items back and regained the prestige I'd spent (since I was only testing some things and didn't want to cost the SG prestige) but I'm still down salvage now.

So, is this a bug or another WAI that we haven't been made aware of?

Im getting a little sick of this game now. Not only are we recieving a constant barrage of stealth nerfs but now it seems, cryptic are introducing "stealth content"

What do i mean by stealth content?
Simple really new alledged content added in I6 and COV release that is there in theory but for all workable intense and purposes might as well not exist.

Base building was supposed to be one of the highs of COV. Would it be possible for a senior dev to pop in and explain to me why i should have to wait for months on end just to get a bare basic base?

Heres a tip for you guys-

I am not having fun-therefore i will cancel my account-therfore you dont make money

Over the last few months it seems to me that cryptic have been attending the SWG School of how to run a MMORPG

For those of you not familiar with this school it basicly involves nerfing your game into oblivion, ignoring player opinions, and [censored] your player base of so much they all go play WOW

Then again why am i not surprised when the games leed developer has gone on print(pczone) specificly saying that he knows best and we dont...?

I honestly feel like giving up,payed to go through [censored] like this in SWG i damned if im paying to go through it again here...

Paying prestige to place personnal items is WAI.

/em runs for cover.

When you craft an item, its more like you are desiging a one shot blue print. One designed you have to pay to place it. I don't think your should have to but than I am not a dev.

Nor am I. I'm also not going to be a player any more. Thank god my sub ran out at the end of October and I'm on my free month. I have, quite literally, had enough of being kept in the dark and fed [censored] repeatedly. If I wanted that, I'd be a bloody mushroom!

Seriously, it's time for cryptic get their collective heads out of their [censored] (or statesplank's [censored]) and realise what is going on. Bugs left, right and centre, stealth nerfs (and don't tell me they just "forgot" to put it in the patch notes - it's amazing that it's always the really bad nerfs that get overlooked while anything that could be remotely considered good news is never missed), lies, half-truths, the list goes on.

Well I for one have had enough. Jack can take his game and shove it in that orifice that he seems to think the sun shines out of. And I know this post will be deleted but I honestly don't care anymore.

To those of you I've come to consider my friends over the last months, thank you. It was fun, in spite of the devs not because of them. I really hope you get your villains to 50 some day and beat the living [censored] out of states.

Just found out reading a little faq at US forums, that anybody regardless of priviledges can place "personal" items(that are crafted with worktables) - that cost SG prestige to place! Devs!! Thankfully my SG isnt going to have that workshop that SG members can misuse anytime soon, cause we are getting magical negative prestige from somewhere! -40000 right now! I recommend laying off base designing until the support gets its heads in a gear.

I had that negative prestige bug too; I just logged in and out a few times and the prestige went back to the amount it should've been but it gave me one heck of a scare at first

I must admit I'm a lil worried about the whole 'anyone can place their crafted items anywhere and it'll cost your group prestige to boot'. I mean I trust my lil SG because I wouldn't have SGed with them in the first place if I didn't but I know one or two of them like to fiddle with things from time to time and I hate logging in to find my carefully designed base plans to be blemished by a rather oddly placed piece of kit that wasn't there before... not to mention it cost us cash and if I sell it to get rid of it then I've just cost my poor teammate their salvage ^^;

But then one of the leaders (or anyone who has base editing rights) can just delete it and get all the pretige back.

The system is just fine, the only thing that troubles me is that prices are a bit too high, cutting something like 25-50% of them would be good.

Some one placing an item and eating up supergroup prestige is not such a big problem. You can always delete it to get the pres back. However the person that placed it will lose any salvage they used to make it.

Really? like to see how these SG's cope with 50+ members lol.

Off topic abit but if the leaders of SG's with lots of villians on the book decide there not getting there fair share of prestige if they kick certain members will they lose the prestige bonus 20000 + what that person has earned for the group.

Example:- Villian 'A' earns 150k prestige for group loggs off for nite, when he logs back on the leader has kicked him from SG.

Does the villian that earned prestige keep it and when he joins another group it gets added to there total, or does the SG that booted him keep his spoils and laughs that villianous chrous at him.

Too many 50's to list here's a few you may know.
Slazenger, Area51, Area53, Area54, Erruption, Mind Plague, Thresher, Sheath, Broadside, Debt

Indeed, if 50 members al start to add their personal items (for a lot of prestige) I can see that hindering progress... More SG politics in tha making...

I hate to say it, but game designers generally do know how to design a game better than the players. I'm not sticking up for the nerfs or anything, yeah some of them are poorly judged, but consider if the average player could get his hands on the tools and rework the game.

We'd have lvl 1 characters starting the game with capes and every single power in the game six slotted, with no ED. You'd be unbeatable and be able to one shot everything. It would probably be fun for a while but once the novelty wore off it would be boring.

The designers should at least listen to the feedback, but in general they do know more than the average punter about their own games.

i had the same thing

so basicly we do alot of hard work gather all that salvage buy the workshop to use the salvge to then find out that ther was no point as you need to buy everything you make whats the pint in that, you dont by you shoping to make your dinner to then pay some other sod so you can eat it,...

There isnt a problem on earth that cant be solved with the proper aplication of hi explosive's
