I didn't buy a pvp game
the only reason Warburg kinda empty now is because no villains in there...expect to see major escalation of PvP in Warburg whenvillains enter it in large numbers...

Thats a self imposed rule.... and is due to you being a mental head-case . Nothing to do with the game.

Very helpful and constructive to the topic - liable to get the thread locked or direct insults to people leading to action on your forum account.
As people have said, go see the guy, get out of there if you dont like the idea of PvP or being attacked when doing missions. Did the same myself last night.

Thank you my pvp friend. I was polite just stating my opinion. I hoped that ppl could have a civilised dialog.

you can be attacked in the bloodybay pvp zone, as soon as you arrive which means for some on slow loading comps that they arrive dead or damaged.
Or you arrive and find yourself tped off the base surrounded by a load of ninja wannabes stroking their knives while dribbling.
[/ QUOTE ]
Yes you can be attacked in the safe zone but the attacker would die instantly (with debt) after the first hit because of the police drones.
[/ QUOTE ]
Nope. We found a spot right near the helipad that was out of Police drones range. If we wanted to grief people, a few Blasters with Snipe would decimate new players.

Thanks for making the point for me. Enough said.

I'm not anti christmas person and I enjoy getting nice presents as every other person in here. I just dont like those christmas elfs... they make me sick!
I didn't buy a super hero game with stupid little christmas elfs running around and jumping on my head. It doesn't fit my image of heroish world. I did extensive research before I bought this game and found it to my liking and elf free... but what did they do!? They added Croatoa with those stupid little elfs with red hats!
Now I'm fully aware that I can choose not to go in that area but the mere knowledge that those little buggers with big smiles are there is haunting my every moment in CoH. I demand that I get a flag that can disable that area from me... or even better delete it alltogether!
[/ QUOTE ]
Thanks for re-writing mine.
[ QUOTE ]
Plus, my story arc seems to be broken at the moment since after the update of CoH/release of CoV, the current sewer zone for the next part of the mission gx lags to the point where it is unplayable while the rest of the game is fine so i am stuck with 2 out of 3 missions i'd either rather not do or cannot do.
Great eh?
[/ QUOTE ]
Exactely what happen to me - which prompted the original post.
[ QUOTE ]
The main reason I got this game over Wow(which I had before COH and did until last week cos I hate it still) was no PvP, got tired of the attitude of PvPers on that and Diablo(only other online rpg game I ever played) and this game is going that way fast.
[/ QUOTE ]
Agreed. I too looked specificaly for a mjor game that did not have pvp. I had enough of pvp in eve and wow. I support the Arena pvp as it has rules and its clear.
I am happy that pvp is now part of the game coz it brings new players in the pve areas. None needs 'introductory' missions to get ppl to pvp zones. Experiance says that pvp ppl will rush there anyway.
[ QUOTE ]
the game is tho. Statesman said "at the moment the endgame content is all about PvP" Isnt Warburg the higher level zone, if so then its likely to be under populated. PvP has never been hugely popular in any regular sense but we still get the nerfs for it in PvE
[/ QUOTE ]
I really hope not. This is going to seriously change the game principles based on which I bought it.
Pvp isnt the big bad a lot of people think it is( hell I dislike the idea, but enjoy pvp), and so far I have been killed by a few Vs who.....Actually rped at me!!
Ok I was dead at the time and they were mocking me, but all the same it beats people talking about their lvl200 cheese monkey all the time.
[ QUOTE ]
wonder if you can petition someone for knowingly using a design flaw to grief (and killing in a supposed safe zone is griefing).
[/ QUOTE ]
Yes. Both griefing and exploiting are against the EULA.
If you come across something in the game that appears to be or could be seen as an exploit, please report it (best to use both /bug and /petition in these cases) then do not make use of it. We would also appreciate you not making the exploit public knowledge, at least until we can confirm whether or not it's intended or not.
Feel free to PM me in these cases, and I'll check whether or not the situation is an exploit or not, as I appreciate this can be something of a grey area - one man's exploit is another man's clever tactic and all that.

Players will be sent to liaisons that will be outside the PvP zones.
[/ QUOTE ]
You know I'm amazed.
First, I'm amazed that an idea that hit my totally out of the blue today as a perfect solution has actually been thought of by Cryptic and will be implemented.
[/ QUOTE ]
Just wanted to confirm that this is coming, and is another change based directly on player feedback and suggestions.
Finally, just wanted to say that, if you don't wish to PvP, you don't have to - it's that simple.
Admittedly, at present you do need to enter the PvP zones briefly to complete the 'introductory' missions. As mentioned above, this is shortly to be changed, so that the contact you have to speak to is standing outside the PvP zone entrance.

Did I mention I love you, Bridger?
<pause>
In a manly sort of way, of course!

But since the end game is all about PvP your mising out on a whole lot because, in his wisdom, our glorious leader decided a mainly PvE game that he couldn't balance wasn't enough of a challenge: he needed tonnes of PvP too!
But then I like PvP
A question Bridger... Does this mean that those of us that have these contacts cluttering up our lists will get them taken off again?
@FloatingFatMan
Do not go gentle into that good night.
Rage, rage against the dying of the light.

Thanks for the confirmation Bridger. As you seem to reading this thread could you please confirm or not another issues mentioned here:
The endgame is/will be all about pvp.
IMHO it dosent sound right - you have a game with optional pvp (as you confirmed) but if ppl want to see/participate in the endgame they will need to embrace pvp. A bit of a paradox!
I think I remember Statesman saying he'd be adding more end game content in 'Year 2' of CoH (so this year). Probably not increasing the level cap, but still allowing our heroes (and villains by then) to become more powerful.

Bah, how can this be? I call your bluff! I have here indisputable evidence that the devs are really out to destroy their game/source of income and that they're out to get me personally!
It's because of all those PM's isn't it?
*shakes fist*
