The Alter-ego

This has probably been said before (oh well)
Heres my suggestion for the only thing i think is missing from any good superhero -

The Alter EGO emote

It would be cool if we had 2 names rather than the one superhero name and a emote command for swapping between them...Batman was bruce wayne Spider-man was peter parker
Im sure many others would love a /emote EGO and watch thier superhero change into BOB SMITH a ordinary man in the street while they buy enhansers or stand chatting without a INVITE TO TEAM popping up every few seconds.
What functions would it serve..well it would please the child here for a start- lol - but it would round off the superhero lifestyle nicely
Probably more work than its worth but its a suggestion

I even know someone who wouldn't mind another part of the game developed for your alter ego

He said it would be good if your alter ego did things a la Sims then could go do superhero bits too.

I like it. Suggested it once before myself. A 'secret' identity mode.

It can even have functionality. You can't use your powers. But you can 'walk' around without being attacked. You can also attempt to hide from Villains/Heroes. Obvious drawback is that walking anywhere will take forever.

Sidenote: They're gonna have to add phonebooths we can run into though. Would be rather silly if we were caught with out pants down trying to change.

What about a variety of emotes that change costumes in addition? There's already some animations that would be useful for this, such as Whirlwind, although a few others wouldn't go amiss. The emote takes an extra value of a number, relating to one of your costume slots and automatically changes the outfit at the appropriate stage of the animation.

OH OH!!! i'm in i really like this idea save me waisting a cossie slot to make a civi cossie

as long as i can make my own cossie for the alter ego, i really like it.

even 3 years later this is a good idea. I think the Day Jobs may be as good as we can hope for

Yep, day jobs is it.

It isn't going to happen. It's been officially stated that it won't happen, to be precise. It gets suggested A LOT, but it won't happen.

Unless a game like CO does it, of course, and then it'll be a must have feature.

Although I would like it, I do understand the reasoning of "this is City of Heroes, not City of Mild Manerred Reporters".

Still, I'd sign this petition

Sims....City of Sims? Oh, wait, thats Sim City...
That bit I dont like.
It would be quite nice for an earlier 'Alter Ego' mode, like the VEATs. And possibly smoother changes. -shrug-

Now if as part of the Day Jobs - On Patrol or Commiting Crimes your character's alter ego name was assigned to a random civilian in the zone you logged out in even better.

Mind of Gaia lvl 50 Defiant's first Mind/Storm 'troller.
Deadly Doc 50 Dark/Dark Corr
and lots more on Pinnacle,Union and Defiant

Would be very nice indeed.

Of course I want an extra cossie for just that. But only with strictly civvie clothing of course.

yup.. like this a lot. The dual build system combined with the day job system.

This should be workable. And giving more love to the roleplayer is always good.

But I would make it a complete switch.. if possible with at least 3 slots to pick from (cozzy slots).

- The Italian Job: The Godfather Returns #1151
Beginner - Encounter a renewed age for the Mook and the Family when Emile Marcone escapes from the Zig!
- Along Came a... Bug!? #528482
Average - A new race of aliens arrives on Earth. And Vanguard has you investigate them!
- The Court of the Blood Countess: The Rise of the Blood Countess #3805
Advanced - Go back in time and witness the birth of a vampire. Follow her to key moments in her life in order to stop her! A story of intrigue, drama and horror! Blood & Violence... not recommend to solo!

As long as it wasn't forced upon your character. I have many character designs where an alter-ego would be inappropriate. Demons, Angels e.t.c.

Well you could always consider it a disguise for your demon/angel. I know I would like to have a disguise if I was looking real weird for those moments you just want to relax.
