Dear XXXXXX.com [who sends me so much spam]

That's odd, because I've left the game for months and come back to a full inbox also. You just rapidly click spam for a few seconds and it's gone. Do you actually know how long four minutes is? Stop spreading lies.

How does that give anyone other than a moderator the right to start reading the rule book and ruining this thread with a page long argument about whether he should of posted at all.

Did you just get the internet and discover forums?
Because this thread is pretty much how they both work. =P

I just wish I could completely turn off the mail system in my options.
Cuz I would. No one sends me mail. And if they did, I wouldnt know because I just click
SPAM SPAM SPAM SPAM SPAM til the list is gone.

Feel free to use the ignore feature that way you won't have to read our posts and your dainty sensibilities won't be upset.
This is my first post in these forums, and allow me to express my disgust with how you people are acting.
OP lays down a problem, be it in an esoteric way, but to express to the developers and the perpetrators that enough is enough, and I share his view. How does that give anyone other than a moderator the right to start reading the rule book and ruining this thread with a page long argument about whether he should of posted at all. Start acting like you have a brain and use your common sense. Advertising... hah! |
Constructive thoughts on anti-RMT features:
- Flag large inf transactions for GM review and/or statistical analysis.
- Flag inf transactions made from asian IP addresses.
(Combining the above two would give you a relatively high hit-rate to train a Bayesian-type statistical analysis filter)
- Publicly ban some known offenders ala Rikti-doll 1-50 exploiters.
- Prohibit logins from known spammer IP addresses collected from other methods and reports.

Ncsoft should jump on the ******* gun and start giving out bans like ******* Uno cards. That is what SquareEnix is doing to Final Fantasy XI right now. They just banned a bunch of legit players for no reason. One of them was me. GRRRR.
The above was a joke (only the part about suggesting what ncsoft should do. []Enix really did ban me for no reason.) Stop laughing.
***********
We need to ******* catch up and do some actual RMT fighting. I'd like to look at my monthly fee going towards ideas/methods to stopping what we as a whole ******* hate to see every day.
Do you know how many Spam emails my MAIN has? The character that I play every day? 103. The last time I noticed the number of emails was last week. I can't imagine what the number is at right now.
One hundred and three spam emails. ALL of them list RMT websites.
I believe it is time to take action and DO something.
Either
1. Make an announcement saying that you will not do anything to stop them from sending emails except for banning/suspending accounts that are multi-ignored as spammers.
OR
2. Start doing what I quoted above. AND MAKE IT PUBLICLY VISIBLE that this is being done. Tell us what you are doing and what you are not doing.
Like really, I believe it's time and I have been encouraging people not to even hit the SPAM button on their email windows because it fills up their Global Ignore lists. The people who were Douches are now off my Global Ignore list because it kicks people to make room for the new adds and I have no idea who is who now.
I'm going back to sleep now. I just thought I'd kill the thread with opinion.
Byeeeeeeeeeee!
