There have been a few forum purges, it's entirely possible your previous posts were on threads that were purged.
Yeah, forum purges happen every month or two, generally. They remove all older posts (I'd hazard a guess it's threads that have no activity for at least a month, maybe 2)
The execptions would be:
1) Forums that are marked to never be purged. Screenshots and fan art along with the player guide forum are such places
2) individual posts that are set to never be purged. See the "gone to the americans post" for an example.
3) threads that have been posted in by a red name are usually kept.
Wow that sucks. I had two threads one for each of my "mains" and was hoping to retrieve those. Luckily most of one story was put on Virtueverse page. 
Funny they'll purge posts from members actually using the forum, but wont ever purge the names of characters that haven't been used in years in-game.

Get the facts before you smirk. They do release names, but only under certain circumstances. If you left the game for a year and came back to find your favorite character had lost his name, that would suck, wouldn't it? There are two sides to the situation.

I think they've only done the name purge once.
At least twice. First time was before I joined. Second was not too long after the made name changes purchasable. That was when Twilight-Vixen was finally able to be the one and only Twilight Vixen.
Also, name changes have no impact on what name the post is listed as. What I mean is, when you change your forum name... ALL of the posts you made with the old name switch to the new name automatically.

Not only that, the first one was 35+ were safe, the second time they announced it 6+ were safe.

Then everything else must have been purged because there's no sign of them. It's unfortunate considering my harddrive was wiped and I lost those text files. :\
It's something they have to do though. Based on the post ID of the newest post, there's been something like 13.8 million posts in the history of this forum. You can't store all of those without slowing things down, so they have to pick and chose what to keep.
I have 167 posts but when I search for my name it only displays 20 or so (even when changing the date range). I made a name change on the forums at some point so I wonder if that's why the other posts don't show up.
Short question... how do I view those old posts? I spent the last hour searching over and over for phrases from my posts (and of course waiting for the spam timer to wear down each time) and no luck.
Would love to know how I can view ALL of my posts.
