Choices and Decisions - Need Help Here
I personally love the Dinosaur and Clockwork ones on Blue side. I have a lot of Steampunk characters so that's probably why I gravitate toward the Clockwork one. The Dinosaur, that just sounds fun and if you don't do it then I just might! I have a few animal hybrid types - mostly shark/dragon/etc. so a Dinosaur isn't too off on my tendencies. I love it!
Red side.. the Terrorist or Alien Tyrant.
I've seen enough demon types. I have a few myself. :P
Just my two cents worth.

Ankylus
I like the Dinosaur one. Ankylus. Sounds fun and interesting.
Of course... That alien defender one sounds fun.
Red side: I'll have to say either the elemental or Alien Tyrant. I see a lot of the other two already.
As long as you don't play a Vampire or Werewolf. Not cause they are "Stupid" or 'Dumb", They just have been overly popular lately to where I gouge my eyes out every 5 minutes for one running by me x.x
I <3 Eric Pelam though, funny dude.

Other options include some sort of raw, elemental force, perhaps born as a result of emotion or a surge of natural energy. This could easily be heroic or villainous based on the element or concepts.

A gravity Singularity that gained sentience. Take grav control and kin as a troller or grav control and energy assault as a dominator

My latest AE madness
I'm partial to the alien tyrant/defender just because there's so many odd and entertaining quirks you can give your character.
i'm partial to the post human experiment and demon host ideas, the demon host one because the character has someone to grow attached to over time.
and i think synapse summed up the other one just fine
"So, are you like me? The result of some messed-up lab experiment? Yeah, I can see it in your eyes.
We're the only ones that know what it's like to be one thing and then be forced to become something else. Don't get me wrong, I dig having the powers, but I also dug being normal. "
Well. I'm getting responses, which is good. I'm naturally gravitating towards things based on the responses.
So far...
Hero
Ankylus (Evolved Ani-Man) - 3 counts
Daemonhost (Cursed hero) - 1 sort of count
Clockwork Hero (Renaissance Machine Man!) - 3 counts (also...inspirational music! )
Experiment (Born of science) - 1 count
Alien Defender (This world is not my own...but I shall defend it anyway!) - 2 counts
Villain
Bound Daemon (The Daemon in the Shell) - No counts!
Mutant Terrorist (To hell or Connaught, ye bastards burn with Cromwell t'nite!) - 1 count
Alien Tyrant (This world is mine. Send your best to reclaim it weaklings!) - 3 counts (Inspirational art of sorts)
Elemental (There are forces at work...) - 3 counts
Keep it coming folks.
I personally am coming up with concepts. And am more than willing to blend them too. (Hells, Mr. Hero was a blend of Clockwork Hero and Alien Defender....)

If you want a character that resonates with you, and will be something that can suck you back into the game and RP... then why don't you choose one instead of asking a forum?
I don't really get it.

Simple answer. Large number of concepts. Limited number of character slots. I RP. And I find it better to work with a community rather than try to jam the round peg into the square hole out of beligerence.

Poke me tomorrow. We should talk Icarnus. Fits under Elemental, with a twist.
Tundra's an Icarnus.
Right...so....
What I'm looking at so far....
Blueside - Either Ankylus or a Clockwork Hero/Alien Defender.
So... Clockwork Defender type. The most obvious parallel is Neil Gaiman's Mr. Hero, the Newmatic Man. That is of course assuming I go for something Steampunk with it. There's also opportunities of sentient AI units or perhaps having the machine as some sort of alien failsafe/bodyguard device.
And if I wanted to put an Arcane twist in it could always be some sort of golem or guardian construct. Or similar to Johann Kraus in Hellboy II: The Golden Army when he possesses one of the machines.
Redside....
Seems to pleasantly becoming a blend of Alien Tyrant/Elemental. This itself is more than doable. It also has me looking at different ATs and sets (though, naturally favouring brute). Essentially I could do this as some sort of alien from an elemental aligned planet (Ice World, Magma World etc.), an elemental plane or even have it along the lines of some sort of elemental manifestation and host, much like Anubis was in SG-1....

Ok folks. As has recently been put into motion I've sort of ended up retiring or just not playing a lot of my old mains in game, RPwise or in any other way. As a result the game wears a bit and I'm trying to come up with concepts and ideas to create a new main for both redside and blueside. I'm even looking at some of the older ones as well.
So, without further ado...potential concepts.
Heroes
* Ankylus. Essentially my existing tribute to the High Evolutionary and the idea of the Ani-men. A dinosaur that was rescued from extinction aeons ago, genetically manipulated and evolved and has now finally left their Earth-base deep within the Himalayas to explore the world. The character is essentially a zen monk of sorts, incredibly resilient and incredibly strong but somewhat docile and pacifist in his ways.
*A daemonhost. Essentially a man or woman bound to an ancient daemonic entity and harnessing its abilities for the good of humanity. This character would be somewhat tormented and would easily fall on the same sort of roles as the anti-hero, being darkity dark as inner turmoil rages for their very soul.
*The Clockwork Hero. The idea is an outdated, ornate clockwork hero of sorts, similar in theme to Neil Gaiman's Mr. Hero. Perhaps a mix of golden age and silver age traits involved in this.
*An experiment - A character that is an experiment of sorts, a feral clone or altered human who has escaped and is trying to just live their life.
*Alien defender - A traditional stereotype, an alien 'knight' of sorts from another world (or dimension) who has been stranded on Earth and is striving to understand and protect it. This could easily be tweaked to an Arcane version or concept.
Villain
Bound Daemon - I already have something similar in Operative Phage, my Crab Spider. Essentially a bound daemon, given a mechanical and material form in return for its service to its masters. Similar to the daemonhost concept but a lot more extreme in its nature.
Mutant Terrorist- Another existing character, The Urban Jackal. A 400 year old Irish mutant extremist who has been through the Troubles from when they first began. Not so much 'evil' as extremist and shockingly close to home with some of his truths and beliefs.
Alien Tyrant - Similar to the Alien Knight theory but a warlord of sorts or perhaps a gladiator or something similar. Similar to Doomsday or Kharn the Betrayer - living for the combat and thrill of the hunt.
Other options include some sort of raw, elemental force, perhaps born as a result of emotion or a surge of natural energy. This could easily be heroic or villainous based on the element or concepts.
What do folks think? What do they want to see?
I am still a RPer and want new 'mains' that I will naturally gravitate towards and play more...
