I really hope that Going Rogue doesn't add to the dayjobs.

More map badges: fine
More kill badges: fine
More Gladiator Badges: fine
New TF Badges: fine
New Dayjobs: please no.

Day Job badges: worst badges ever.

[/ QUOTE ]Weird thing is, I really love them. Some give great bonuses for lowbie alts. Some give good, work-towards-it kinda powers. And the titles themselves are generally fantastic.

Don't get me wrong, I imagine they really put a kink in the pipe if you're a pokemon-style gotta-badge-em-all style player.

If we're allowed to keep badges when we switch, GR is pretty much guaranteed to add more DJ badges since since some are unique to each side in that they're earned for different things and don't have corresponding badges on the other side:

Villain only:
Pilot
Arachnos Agent
Demagogue
Crey Employee
Smuggler
Arachnos Official

Hero Only:
City Official
Commuter
Shopkeeper
Dimensional Explorer
Intern
Law Enforcer

Some of these would work thematically as counterparts of each other (City Official/Arachnos Official, Intern/Crey Employee, Smuggler/Commuter), but a lot of it would depend on how they set up the areas where each DJ corresponds to...

This, and future one-side only TF/SF badges and two of the big reasons why I don't plan on switching sides at all... at least with my main badgers, of which I have one on each side.

I don't plan to switch my main badgers either at this time, but I need more data on GR before I make a final decision.

I'm also still of the opinion that there are way more then enough badges in the game as it is already and I was for the most part glad when the bulk of the AE badges were stripped, and I'd still like to see Synapse since he seems to be the badge man nowadays to at some future point review all the badges and their criteria.

indeed, there's quite enough badges as is, more is fine, just don't unload the dump truck >.>

also digging the badge art for the FBZ day job

Also they say that if we switch sides we can switch back again, so badge loss from side changing may not occur. Emphasis on the word may.

As to day jobs, I think there is more then enough of them, I can't see anymore being added even with GR, regardless of any "exclusivity" of some badges only being on blue or red side.

They may just add some random Day Jobs if they can come up with locations that make sense. The only way I could see real justification is if Going Rogue adds a specific building for transportation to Praetorian Earth. If so, then it would likely have a Day Job associated with the location - maybe something like Portal Technician since the Portal Corp one is just 'Intern'.

Now that would make sense much like the architect dayjob was added in. still I hope they don't go hogwild, or if they do they contemplate the wisdom of dropping it to a 14 day time requirement.

I don't see them changing the day job requirements any more than changing the vet badge requirements. They are both more for time on account not for achievements in play.

I am surprised they don't add more every issue. They are easy to add, and hard to argue they aren't fair or too hard to get, everyone logs off equally well.

I just hope they announce any new day job badges before I decide to get them all. I'd hate to go through all the effort to earn them all in one day, only to find out there are some more to earn.

Love the DJ badges. Hoping I can pull off the earn them all in one day feat...

I've got an alt working on that just for the sake of a "fun experiment" but I'm not worrying about that for my main badgers. Basically I didn't want to gamble on the idea that the Devs 'may or may not' ever add new ones. For open ended badges like these there's always the chance new ones could be added up until pretty much the last day the servers are still on.

I'm mostly neutral on the whole Day Job badge thing. I don't overly love them or hate them and I wouldn't really mind if more were added or not. At this point though it seems entirely possible that the Going Rogue expansion could add more to the game (like Architect). I suppose we'll all find out eventually.

So out of curiosity, what is this whole "earn all the Day Job badges in one day" thing? Does it involve rotating a toon through all DJ badge locations until the progress on each one is just a SLIVER below 100%, and then doing a DJ badge location "tour" one day and logging out for short periods of time, only long enough to receive that badge before repeating the process in the next location?

If not, then I'm mystified by the whole thing (and in any case I'm kind of confused as to why "doing them all in one day" [which you really aren't, actually] is significant...).

That's excatly what it is, get everything to 99.99% then spend a day earning them.

As for the reason for doing it? Because it's giving an otherwise mundane task a life of its own? Because it's just fun? Because I like spreadsheets? Because I can?

It's going to take the same amount of days to get the day job badges, if I'm doing them all in one day or if I earn them sequentially. If you're going to do something, why not do it with a bit of style?

And, I really am earning them all in one period of 24 consecutive hours, even if it requires 220 * 24 hours of setup.
