I don't like it, it makes my base look bad. 
The control room is SG, as I recall, had no door leading directly to the room with the gate. Just an armored window.
Consider making a second hallway leading to your teleport chamber and blocking it off so you only have the window?

Yeah, not doable in my base. Probably have to hold off on that idea until I can upgrade our plot.
One of my hero bases, the House of Heroes, has a similar "Control Room" setup for each telepad room, inspired by the look of Stargate Command.

Nifty setup 
My version of the SGC is still under construction and isn't a functional room, just decorative. Still got some things to change and add, but its coming along.

Wish we could use the big CoT portal in a base. That would make a much better stargate than a stack of floor safes, hehe.
Well we had some upgrades in the base, which resulted in a 100% remodel. Here's our new Secure Portal Room, with the new and improved Command Center.
