Ping's Weekly Niche: Welcome Back My Friends
So my question is how does someone like me who has decent money to play with but whom is too damn cheap and lazy to get the crafting badge and also too damn lazy to run back and forth to the base to craft crap and has a dozen sucky build toons for this exact reason utilize your plan? Huh mrknowitall? :-)

That's how I do it, and on top of that, you make money getting Field Crafter if you do it right. Being cheap only hurts you if you want to make money.
Spending wisely is much different from being cheap... Thrifty I believe it's called.

Lol, I started to work on the crafters the other day and went to look for the list of what is needed for it and got so lazy I closed IE and logged out.
While I love the set bonuses I hate the fact that playing the market or crafting seems like a job to me. Sigh. I am definitely one of those lazy people making other people rich I can assure you. I always buy crafted unless I am working on a major build. When leveling toons and updating enhancments I never craft myself.

Really its about the same distance as WW from Talos base entrance. I am just lazy is all there is to it. If I could craft right at the store I would probably get more in to the market. Maybe I could pay someone I trust to get the damn badge for me and solve my problems.

Sounds like it's time you got a sidekick.
"Batman, why do I always have to be the one to do this?"
"Because, Robin, those batarangs aren't going to sharpen themselves."
"But they're YOUR batarangs!"
"I don't care, Robin. You'll do them or I'll unadopt you and sell you back to the circus!"
"Dammit....stupid dead family. Why couldn't they have been accountants or surfers or something. The circus sucks...."

Bases require zoning. Universities don't. I'm lazy too, but all of my crafters sit in Steel WW.

You hire someone else to shop for you, for a fee. When I had a few billion to play with, I took shopping lists from folks. I figure I'll probably do that again at some later date. I get everything cheaper for my clients than "the going rate", but I tack on a small fee for my time too (usually about 10%).
Along this same line, you could hire someone to play the market for you. Obviously, the more experienced the marketeer, the higher their rate would be, but if you were to invest, say, 500M with a marketeer (you trusted) and agree to a certain interest rate earned on a weekly or monthly basis, you'd be doing the equivalent to buying a CD in real life.
All these things may not be "heroic" in the sense of some folks' definition, but Bruce Wayne and Clark Kent held day jobs too. In all reality, characters in-game are nothing more than glorified bounty hunters anyway. A real hero wouldn't get any compensation. Those who arrest certain wanted individuals in exchange for compensation in the way of goods or funds, well, they get reality shows with melodramatic theme music and inspirational pep talks squeezed into every 30 minute block between ads for companies that do far more morally debatable things in a day than any of the criminals that get locked up before the credits roll.

Just to make sure we're clear on how easy this works, I took my own advice. My market signature is 5024, so wherever you see that ending, I purchased.
Last 5 Crafted BotZ KB Reductions:
50,000,000
27,255,024
50,000,000
40,000,000
27,136,540
You'll recognize the last 2 from the previous list. Since I made this thread, 3 have sold. One was lowballed by myself. I'll be collecting my 20 million inf sometime in the next 3 days, you can be sure of that.

going to the base with the long load screen I can see, but Steel and Cap quick and easy no load screen.
since Ping is giving you a niche the research is done. Just need to order X number and salave to craft them. Come back when you done playing and see if you can craft for 2-3 min and post.
that is why some marketters only spend 5-10 mins at it.

While buying and selling items (clearing your items from your inventory) keep an eye out for trends. About 3 weeks ago i noticed Numina recipes were selling 5 Mill, i thought that is crazy, so i bought them, made them, went back and sold the enhancements for 100 mill each (about the price it is now). Cost to make 10 mill, sold 100 mill, profit 90 mill
i sold 6 yes i am lazy too but........win! win!
Yes a week later the recipes went back up. I dont go looking for bargains but if i see them......
I agree we need in-game servants, let's petition the Devs.
I do a similar thing at the moment with taking shopping lists from people. They tell me what they need and I watch the market.
I also have several that give me a list of all the regular io's they need for their builds and I craft those as well since I have all of the recipes memorized and have my table. Helps both parties. Although I didnt know I could make a profit off of it.... Ive just done it to be helpful since i love doing market and crafting and such!

I don't know why you feel the need to exaggerate everything you accomplish in order to make yourself sound better, but you really don't have to. Your advice is good (though broad), there's no reason to tack on a story with made up numbers.

Seriously.
I did however buy 10 LoTG 7.5's when I noticed a trend of them being sold for 10 bucks each and the profit was so huge son my calculator broke before I could tally the total.

Welcome back my friends,
To the show that never ends.
We're so glad you could attend,
Come inside,
Come inside.
Emerson, Lake, and Palmer are a fitting introduction for this week's column because, like a solid hippie festival, the market just never stops getting higher. I mean, printing money. Well, prices keep going...nevermind. We'll start with a little review of my last posted niche, then we'll move on to a couple new ones.
Last week's niche:
Level 50 Blessing of the Zephyr: Knockback Reduction
So, where is it currently?
[u]Crafted Last 5[u]
40,000,000
27,136,540
60,000,000
60,000,000
60,000,000
[u]Recipe Last 5[u]
41,500,000
42,000,000
41,500,001
41,500,500
41,500,500
So, we're seeing the gap closing somewhat. Recipes have risen almost 10 million inf from where they previously were. However, there's still a lowball crafted bid that went through (marketeer's signature, don't know which one's, but definitely a sig [if it's one of ya'lls, congratulations!]). Now, that lowball's about 1.8 mil higher than the lowball from a couple weeks ago, so there's progress there too. Don't give up on this niche though. Even buying at 42M+2M(crafting)+6M(fees)=10M(profit) if you sell for the 60M price. Get that lowball on the crafted, and you're still looking at 25M profit.
So, you all STILL know a profitable niche, but what if that one's out of your price range? I mean, to do some damage there, you need at least 40M already banked, so how about something smaller for you cute little newbie market manipulators?
Well, by golly, you don't even have to search for a different IO set!
This week's niches:
1) Level 50 Blessing of the Zephyr: Run Speed, Jump, Flight, Range
AND
2) Level 50 Blessing of the Zephyr: Run Speed, Jump, Flight, Range/End
Now, surely I must be crazy, right? I mean, these two are actually fairly common drops. Oh, don't ever underestimate the lazy.
[u]Last 5 Crafted #1[u]

1,311,111
1,355,555
1,355,555
1,355,555
Whattaya think could be in that little case there?
Using our quick formula of recipe+2M crafting+10% fee subtracted from an average sale price, this niche looks like you could bank 3.8M per sale without breaking a sweat. Note that ALL those recipe purchases are marketeer signatures. That means that you're stepping in where someone's been cashing out. So, pay attention. If they're buying that many, they'll be watching and reacting.
Now, I wouldn't guarantee that this niche could handle flipping/crafting 5 a day, but you could probably clear 1-2 every evening without a problem. So, if you're a "casual player" who can only really play on weekends, a deposit of 10 minutes a day (no searching necessary, just the time to pick up your inf, grab your supplies, hit a table, and list your product) could net you an extra 30M or so a week. I know, that's just pocket change, but if you only work this hard (1 hour per week) and only focus on this one IO, you can have a shiny new Miracle +Recov every month without actually cutting into your regular playtime. Just as a bonus. But wait! There's more!
If you order this niche in the next ten minutes (we can't do this all day), you'll get one of these for free!
[u]Last 5 Crafted #2[u]
11,100,000
11,000,000
9,000,000
10,000,000
10,000,000
[u]Last 5 Recipe #2[u]
2,500,000
2,500,000
2,000,000
2,000,000
4,000,000
Now, no obvious lowball in the crafteds (though since they're all even numbers, you can bet a lowball bid is sitting out there, it just hasn't filled in the last 24 hours). However, also no sig in the recipe buys, so a lowball there could go fill overnight too. Either way, even if you WEREN'T lowballing, our quick formula tells us this niche yields an expected profit of 5M per sale. That's nothing to sneeze at. Work this in combination with the first one, and you could easily clear 50M a week in profits without cutting into your regular playtime. But, you know, if you can't find a use for an extra 50M inf every week...
"But, Ping," you high-rollers say, "that's a pittance for the poor to me! Gimme something with substance! Meat! Big numbers so I can feel important!" Okay, fine, ya spoiled piece of [censored].
Level 50 Hecatomb: Damage/Endurance Reduction
[u]Last 5 Crafted[u]
130,000,000
210,000,000
200,000,100
200,000,001
200,000,000
Well, well, well, someone won the jackpot. Why isn't that someone you, Mr. Richiepantsandstuffz? Well, maybe for someone, that someone IS you, and to you, kudos. For the rest of you, that's an expected profit of 50M for a single sale. And trust me, lowballs like that go through ALL. THE. TIME. So, you're happy to see me and you've got a roll of really big quarters in your pocket, so put it to good use. Hell, you get really good, and you might be able to top my own personal best (120M profit on a single sale).
Then you can start writing a damn column.
