Mace/SR
First off, I love my mace/sr brute. SR brute is pretty simple, say yes to everything (except elude if you don't care for the downer). SR is one of the easiest to soft cap so you won't have a problem there.
On the mace side, I skipped bash and jawbreaker, but while lvling up you may want jawbreaker for the extra attack, and it is fun to bounce baddies off the ceiling.
Good luck!
1668 - The Doctor's Medicine
how is the 360 move? I was debating dropping it and relying on crowd control for my AoE style damage.
Did you bother with Taunt? I'm accustom to using punchvoke/auras for keeping aggro, but with brutes...I don't know how dependant I am on fury (my highest brute was like a 26 nrg/elec that I've let rott...nrg dmg SUCKS early on heh), so I don't know what to do for fury since SR doesn't have an aggro aura.
- ;p
Taunt is handy with WM because you have no other means to get the attention of ranged foes unless you dip into patron pools. And dipping into patron pools leads to redraw.
Give and take.
I never took Whirling mace and opted instead on grabbing Jawbreaker. Many people do just the opposite and nothing is wrong with that - you simply need a lot of recharge to still manage an ST attack chain with only pulverize, clobber, and shatter. Speaking of shatter, it's another very nice AoE and I frequently hit five with it. The downside is that 5 is its target limit.

Be well, people of CoH.
I'm wagering said aura does not function as well as previously indicated, Billz?
Umm, actually... I'm still ticked off that brutes got it but scrappers didn't.
Be well, people of CoH.
Ah, forgot about that
I lost my wager
What do Scrappers need a Taunt aura for?

Herding maps while solo. Or tanking on teams lacking a tank. Ok ok... I want all the hate on me all the time. MY KILLS MY KILLS MY KILLS!
In all seriousness, while I understand Castle's decision to give brute evasion the taunt aura for fury generation, I find it unfair that scrappers did not receive the same treatment.
It makes no sense to me for one to have something the other doesn't.
A taunt aura is an extremely useful tool for gathering enemies together for AoEs and keeping them coming for more.
Be well, people of CoH.
Here is (I think) my live Brute WM/SR build. It's a bit endo heavy, but the AOE dmg is great and the single-target pretty good.

Teabagging Ms. Liberty - http://kk-comics.com/allmmproject/rsf21.jpg
At a glance that looks expensive >_<
- ;P
The great thing about SR is you can go expensive as you want or build it on the cheap and still be effective. You will need to watch the end a bit from the WM.
Taunt is a good thing on a brute if you plan on teaming and keeping agro control, squishies usually appreciate it.
1668 - The Doctor's Medicine
Looking for some pointers...I'm new to bruting for the most part. Unfortunatly I didn't see any guides to Mace or SR.
Only other def based toon I have is an ice/ss tank, which I maxed out with fighting/aid self setup. I'm trying to do a build for this, but I don't know which powers from Mace/SR are skippable and which ones are even great...I just know I want Crowd Control lol. any help would be appreciated.
