I'm not 100% sure what all mobs have them, but as far as I know it's most of the mind control attacks. The only enemy I know for sure that has them is the AV malaise. Maybe some carnies too?
And as far as I know they still ignore positional defense, since malaise tore my SR scrapper apart when I tried to solo him.
Any Mind Control/Illusion Control attack is untyped (ie not Positional), whereas Defender style psychic blasts arent.
If it involves whire radial circles, its untyped. If its got a pink projectile, its Ranged (or AoE for a cone)
The following common enemies use untyped attacks:
Tsoo Ink Men
Lost Rectors (I think - they use a bit of both)
Rikti Mentallists
Carnie Illusionists (but not Ring Mistresses)
These attacks are still typed as Psychic, so Dispersion Bubble, Hover, CJ, manouvres, Weave all count against them since they offer Defense vs Psi.
And the Elusive Mind accolade from Rikti Invasions gives Psi Defence too. So if they're giving you trouble, go kick some Rikti butt this weekend!
I believe it would apply to Lost and Rikti as well but I haven't tested it.

Blind isn't. It's Psi only. The others are, however.
Flash is AoE only with no Psi component, which makes some sense to me.

Whether or not that applies to NPCs as well, Im not 100% sure.
If memory serves, even the straight control powers in Mind are non-positional, as is Deceive. As such, any mob with those abilities, or ones based off of them, are probably the same. The only ones that I can think of that are added to the list of standard mobs with that are Succubi, specifically their Confuse/Deceive clone, Come Hither.

[/ QUOTE ]Pretty much, all of the pwoers that only have Psionic_Attack vectors are Mind Control, and powers based on the Mind Control powers (Dominate -> Blind, Confuse -> Deceive, Mass Confusion -> Aura of Confusion, etc)
There are also a handful of other powers which do not have "positional" typing, yet also doin't have Psionic_Attack. For example, Fearsome Stare is Negative_Energy_Attack, without including AOE_Attack.

Don't forget Council Vampyri (Lieutenant and Boss only), and I believe 5th Column Vampyr Mesmerists (minion version).
Quick question.
I've seen a couple of mentions here and there about some mobs in the game having psionic attacks that are not positionally typed (i.e. range, AoE, melee). I was wondering if someone knew exactly which mobs this was referring to or if the information I was reading is simply obsolete. I know they've made one or two changes to damage types over the years.
