Entropic Chaos: Chance to Heal Self

I got this IO the other day, and I was absolutely giddy to have found it. I figured slapping this thing on my Charged Bolts would save me alot of pain, since I use the power so often it seemed logical to throw a self-effecting proc on there.

But I was horribly dissapointed at the results. 20HP!? I have over 1,000HP right now, 20 is nothing! And it hardly ever procs!

Am I the only one who finds this to be a waste of a slot? Am I missing something here? Please, tell me if this is all I can get out of the IO, because I'm sorely dissapointed.

It's a 10% chance to heal 5% of your Health. It doesn't take into account powers/set bonsues that raise you total health.

It might not seem like much, but with one in each attack, you'll get more overall. I have it slotted in my Blaster's quickest attack along with the full set (+6.25 recharge isn't much either, but heck, I'll take it)

It should heal 20 HP at level 18. At level 50 it's 53 HP healed. If you are getting less than that, then something is wrong.

While fighting it is roughly equal to a Regen buff of ToHit * 10% * 5% * 240s / (Activation + Recharge). If you're casting CB every 4s and have a capped 95% chance to hit then it is equivalent to a 28.5% Regen bonus while you are fighting.

Hmm...Well, I'm 42 so it should be over 20HP then. Now that I think about it, I may just be having a dyslexic moment and it was 50HP (Note: I am not dyslexic, just...Dumb). Even so, it's not what I was expecting. Then again, if it were better than it would probably be overpowered.

I guess I'll keep it on and see how it affects me in the long run. I'm considdering swaping it for Energy Manipulator: Chance to Stun eventually, maybe both if I end up liking Entropic Chaos.

Or move/try it in an AoE, while not an enormous benefit I slotted Call to the Sandman: Chance of Heal Self in Siren's Song and while one instance of the proc firing is meh, it will fairly frequently fires off on multiple foes at a time which is much less "meh"

It's a ranged set proc -- can it even go into an AoE? Don't most of them not accept ranged sets?

I think they are getting the Sandman Chance for Self Heal and Entropic mixed up

I have a Mind/Dom with 2 Entropics and the Sandman heal slotted and its nice having the heal but the sets were what I was going for.

A side note: Powerboost effects the heal. So if the heals og off during the PB duration, you get healed for more. I often see a nice healing effect when I PB+Mass Sleep a mob.

[/ QUOTE ]No, Entropic Chaos can't go in an AoE, but Call of the Sandman (exact same proc effect, in a sleep set) can go into AoE sleeps.

Not so much mixed up the two as having a sleepy moment of stoopid about a ranged set.

Think Lightning Storm takes it and can hit mulitple foes but healing the Lightning Storm does little for the user (At least I don't recall it ever healing my stormy, as likewise at the time, I was after the set bonuses and not so much the heal itself)

I've slotted all of my -END attacks (except holds) with the Stun proc; coupled with the hold procs; I feel like a wannabe Dom.
