A bitter Fire tank
Tanked him with my WP/ a couple nights in a row (we weren't able to finish the first night for out-of-game reasons, so came back the next evening for Round Two!). Got dropped once the first night, more due to my cranio-rectal inversion than anything else. No defeats in the rematch. But I have to point out that the team had a terrific Emp and Kin, both of whom were ready with the green glowing goodness when it was needed.
Looking forward to trying it with either my namesake (old-school firetank rebuilt into something workable) or another one I've been leveling on a different server, with a different build idea. Might be seeing a whole lot of the floor, but it'll be fun trying!

I've played a fire/fire tank since Issue 2 and can say, you need IO's. In my opinion any way. Yes fire/fire tanks are squishy, but ....key word being but...., it you build it right, you can be amazingly awesome.
My tank has bout 72% resist to S/L, about 37% defense to melee, 15-20% ranged/aoe, can't exactly remember right off my head, and has no end issues what so ever, recharging like 3.3 end a second or something like that, with the performance shifter chance for end firing off every once in a while on top of that.
My toon is AoE oriented too, so he does awesome group damage.
The thing is, you just need to stick with him, and build him up. I hate to say it but SO's don't really cut it anymore, at least not with fire tanks and not if you want to be effective
I tanked Reichsman with my lvl 50 Invy/Stone tanker without a problem. Team make up probably had a big effect on that. The TF was set to Invincible, the team leader was level 47 and besides my tanker we had 2 controllers (Ill/Storm), 3 defenders (Dark/?, Rad/?, & Empathy/?), 2 blasters and a scrapper. All of them were level 50 or high 40s.
The only hiccup we had was the scrapper face planting early in the battle.

My Will Tanker has capped Energy defense and never went below 70% against Reischman. I think he's kinda a weenie personally.

Get a better build, my fire tank had zero trouble with the end AV in that TF, with only a dark as support.
Space reserved for a super awesome Signature, someday...

well, seeing how this is another fire/fire thread, and my gf was having similar issues, here is a build I have come up with for her.
S/L is a lot easier to get close to cap with than Positional Defense. Seeing how pretty much all damage in the game has an S/L component, well, you see where I am going with that.
Anywho, this is the build I am proposing for her, wanted to get some more input on it first tho.
Note, dropping RotP is not an option. She likes the utility of it, and I agree with her on this point. Until she can get the purps, oblits and posi blasts will be used, respectively.

Dark Armor is like that kid you knew in school that didn't know when to shut up, and no matter how bad he got beaten down, he got right back up again and kept on talking.
Nice build there Brakner but i am concerned with the END use. 1.8 end use with consume is horrid..u must have a pocket emp or kin. try to grab a miracle and numi R/R to slot in health..but u still are hurting for end. maybe work in some 2.5% recovery sets or 1.8-2.0% max end sets. I like the defense numbers u posted though. 28-24-23 melee-range-aoe sounds like a winner for a resist set or a skinny lady contest..lol
