Which Server(s) are the Role Playing Servers?
Virtue is the unofficial role-playing server.
@Celestial Lord and @Celestial Lord Too
Also, there is a role-playing presence on Pinnacle as well.

I remember in EQ there were different levels of RP that were permitted with some guidelines in the forums about what was and wasnt expected. Is that the case on Virtue and or Pinnacle?

All of them.
There are no words for what this community, and the friends I have made here mean to me. Please know that I care for all of you, yes, even you. If you Twitter, I'm MrThan. If you're Unleashed, I'm dumps. I'll try and get registered on the Titan Forums as well. Peace, and thanks for the best nine years anyone could ever ask for.

No. It's going to depend a little on the crowd that you hang out with, but I know of nowhere where there are hard and fast rules.

There's nothing that formal. RP'ers tend to have something in their bio that says ((RP)) or whatever... heck, the mere fact that they HAVE a bio puts them in that camp. And they will say things like ((anyone got a wakie?)) in between the "Foul foe! I have fallen! Fie!" statements.
As far as I know from doing missions with them, they mostly just try to lead by example.
Maybe there are all sorts of deep RP'ing exchanges that I haven't gotten into.

So you think you're a hero, huh.

Heyas, now. I know I'm an old returnee, but I'm not an RPer and all thirty-two of my toons have bios. So, not all bio-ers are RPers (not that RP is a bad thing).
...just some of us need to write a bio to figure out what powers and costumes to make. Which reminds me... need to figure out what my Kheld's third costume should look like *rummage*
(Virtue's been RP centric from the day that it was announced as the server to do name reservations at the end of beta. That's why it was picked as the RP server.)
<-still annoyed someone stole Myrdinn on Virtue at the end of beta. *grumble*

This game exists in a modern world with F1 and football. So, your character talking about the game last night is acceptable. Just because you shoot laser beams out of your eyes and fly and defeat enemies by drawing on negative forces, doesn't mean you can't have cable.
As previously stated, Virtue is the unofficial role-playing server, although there is an RP presence on all of them. There are no rules enforcing IC/OOC in any Virtue chat channels, so it's more of a supergroup or team convention. There are folks on Virtue who do not RP. That's allowed too.
www.paragonwiki.com is a great source of information for this game.

Just curious
Which servers are the role playing servers?
If there are more than one, is there a role playing light server?
I was thinking it might be fun to have a totally immersed character (well mostly totally, I tend to have a fair bit of OOC chat so I wouldnt want to mess with someone elses immersion by talking about F1 or Football or whatever)
If there are any rules of the road I should know about before creating a character on one of the servers that information would be most appreciated.
