Invincible Sewer Trial - Sat Jul 11th
Hi. My computer is still at the shop but if I'm back up and there's room I'd like a spot... or at least a place in line as an alt. Thanks.
(updating the roster)
We've been getting reports back from other teams in the Abandoned Sewer System. The Rikti have some creature down there contained with force field generators. Fortunately, the previous heroes have scouted out the area, so we have a plan of attack. Otherwise, who knows how the Rikti plan to use this creature against the city of Paragon.

Note 1: There is a 90 minute timer on this Trial, and we'll proceed with the following team plan:
Team Strategy:
-the Rikti have crates of weapons for containing the creature
-we should each obtain ONE of these weapons...do NOT be greedy
-due to their durability, scrappers and tankers should get particle cannons
-these weapons are extremely effective against the creature...apply these weapons liberally
-some weapons are best against the creature's tentacles, some weapons against its head
-to attack the creature, we need to interrupt power flow to the four force field generators
-we'll work in pairs on each force field generator
-because people do damage at different rates, we'll first bring the generators down to about 1/5
-then we'll simultaneously bring down the remaining 1/5 and then attack the creature as a full team
-make sure to pop purple and orange inspirations to extend your health when fighting the head
-after a short while, Rikti support teams will respond by restoring power to the generators
-at this point, our full team will clear the Rikti out, and then we split into pairs again
-the estimate is that we'll need to bring the generators down four times in this manner (hopefully three)
Good to hear from you, Dermy. I was kinda hoping that perhaps you'd be back in time to have the experience. Please try to come if you can.
-Johnny
I'll be bringing Taxibot Icy tomorrow. She's an ice/ice blaster.
Johnny,
You said we have a 90-minute time limit...right? So, if we start @ 1pm EST, we'll definately be done by 4pm, right?
Just checking.
Thanks!

The Sewer Trial won't take more than two hours if we get it right on the first try, you should be clear to go by 4pm if you need to.
Absolutely fantastic, everyone! Both teams had success on the first attempt.
For Team One, it was astounding because we had 34 minutes on the timer when hitting mission completion. Our difficulty setting was Invincible, we fought our way down at a steady pace (i.e., no stealthing), and we only had to lower the shields twice before the monster was defeated.
It helped that we had two tankers, and an excellent spread between damage and defense. That meant that the four people with Particle Cannons could keep maximum focus on the monster, and the other half of the team could fend off the Rikti ambushes.

Well, to be fair, from what I've seen, the difficulty level is fixed for this trial.
The last time I led it, we got to the first group of enemies, saw they were 42 and I checked my rep, saw it was on Invincible, so we quit and re-started on Heroic. When we got back to the big room . . . the enemies were still level 42. They're always level 42.
Caveat: This may work like the respec where it is scaled to 2 over the highest character. If everyone on the team was 38, perhaps they would be 40. But the leaders rep setting does not seem to do anything. Maybe it would raise their levels if everyone was 38 or 39.

Yes, if they haven't been removed yet, look at the rikti group in MA. There are--or at one time there were--rikti at only level 42, these are the ones that show up in the sewer trial.

Shoot on sight, please.
I had a very nice time this afternoon! Thanks to Gata for getting me in on the last available slot, even with my not having signed up beforehand. It's not often that I have a Saturday available for CoH, but it was a blast playing with you folks. Plus, our success got Tattered Man up to badge #550. Excellent leadership and extremely competent play all around. I hope I can find the time to join in again sometime soon.
Statesmonkey Sez: Lighten up! It's a game, for Lincoln's sake!
Also: Six years of casual play begins to look an awful lot like one year of hardcore play.
Yeah gata is a great leader... Its was fun with everyone in my team.. As for team two we also had to shut the shield down twice before we got Mr Hydra himself.. and our tank was absolute wonderful.

Three times. On the second 'shield down', we got the Hydra down to something like 5-8% hit points.

Ok, it looks like team 2 needs a tank. I wasn't sure what was needed before so I'll bring either Gwen Novak (lvl 38 inv/ss tank) or Gravel Greta (lvl 50 stone/dark tank) to the task force.
