So planning the 3rd Annual Halloween Bash...

And I was wondering, should we do the customary Pocket D like the last few years, or should we flock to the Rikti War Zone for a night of raiding, costume contests, and trivia? As always, I'm talking with the Cape Radio for hardcore metal, thrash, and a few Halloween themed songs for background music of course. So thoughts?

RWZ sound cool, BUT you'd be limiting it to lvls 35+.

-Pogoman, Master of Kick-Fu
-Co-Leader and recruiting officer of the Virtue Honor Guard
- lvl 50 ma/sr scrapper
-Ace O' Diamonds lvl 50 fire/rad controller
and waaaay to many other alts to mention right now

Yeah, but thanks to AE I don't think that would be an issue.

Barring those who don't touch AE with a 10 foot pool because they like low levels/like not farming. That and there might be some who start up characters repetitively close to the date and might not get their characters up that high that fast *shrugs*

However, it does allow for either side to participate still, which is a good thing.

being always musically minded, and however I do like some metal music, I wonder why no one ever thinks to play the one genre of music that goes with Halloween best?

Goth

ok yes I have been a "Goth" Since 1989 But still come on.... its the one night the music fits best,

and with gothic music you can add anything post punk if its dark and or sinister, such as Ministery, Danzig, NiN, Skinny Puppy... Meat Puppets (you know the song).

I think it should stick in Pocket D this year, actually. That way people who are new to the game could also participate in the festivities rather than just people who have 35s.

I'm not a goth, never have been a goth and never would give in to that "I gotta look like everyone else" fad. Although there aren't so many goths around now so the look like everyone else factor isn't there as much as it used to be.

However I do love Gothic metal. I dare anybody to listen to "Dark Passion Play" by Nightwish and not immediately become a fan.

You could take over the Midnighter Club.

Wouldn't that risk leaving out those who have never done the Midnighter Club missions?

And wasn't there a nightclub that was based in Atlas City before Pocket D was created? Perhaps the party could be based there, or in one of the warehouse dungions....?

You're thinking of the Paragon Dance Party, but they shut their doors when Pocket D opened.

Sure the Midnighter Club would exclude those that haven't done the entrance arc but you can do the arc at level 10. Just saying it'd be a bit more accessible to lower level toons than the RWZ or Cimerora.

Villains don't enter until 35.

Pocket D is still level 1 to everybody.

Ah so they don't. Forgot about that tidbit.

Pocket D is ok too. Though I was just trying to throw options out there for the OP.

Despite the level requirements and griefers, I think it'd be cool to hold a huge event in a PvP zone.

Even if the Midnight Club was level 10 to everybody, somebody who rolled up a character for the event may not want to spend time doing the arc in order to get access. Pocket D is still the best bet, as far as I know

Considering the host is a villain...... Nah. Sure standing around /e dance2 is nice and all, but think of earning all those Vanguard Merits! The regular Cape crowd is 35+ anyways and considering it's on a Friday night, maybe having higher level, more committed players might not be a bad thing.....

Just a note, you don't HAVE to do the arc. team with someone who has the badge and bingo yer in.

Enter from from Steel (and maybe the other heroside zone, don't know about vilain side) and you can get the badge easily enough.

Yes, I skip that arc whenever possible. That suicidal blapper is ANNOYING!

If you can take the potential for griefing, Bloody Bay or a low-level PvP area might be... interesting.

I am not certain it is particularly important to choose a coop zone in order to include everyone. I do not think I ahve met anyone, ever who does not have at least one hero player-character. I suspect the great majority have at least one villain tucked away as well, even they're only level 3.

However, to point something out Fernandes. Even in these sorts of things people RP. It's habit. Doesn't matter if you have a high level Hero character. Some people are pretty much retired from blueside altogether and would rather not have to RP something they don't even play any longer.
