Used to be. The Steel 70 did it a while ago on Test when the Invasions were first reintroduced. But they got buffed and are drastically more difficult to take down now. You'd have to cap the zone and know the route to be able to maximize assault time on it, which is also extremely difficult.
I'd be willin' to give it a go, but I'm highly dubious as to it bein' possible.

I never checked, do the ships auto-hit or do they have a tohit check? Get 4-5 rads on it and a ton of assault people it might be possible.

I joined COH during a raid week and have always thought about it.. I think this needs to be worked on for sure!

The biggest obstacle is havin' a ton o' flyers do it. Group Fly isn't fast enough and it's too end heavy for constant use. And they can't be slowed down anymore to keep them in the zone.

Yes but with the Day Job flight pack, you just have to park for a week in the Shard (or Train station with the accolade). Its easy to get 30mins of flight time.

I actually transferred one of my characters to another server a while back to take part in one of these, since Champion never seemed to attempt it. It was pretty fun.

Nope, that was Virtue. But it's definite proof that dropships can be taken down, and rather efficiently in fact, if you know the flight paths of the dropships. I think they're currently up on ParagonWiki or something.
As the video shows, we took down 41 dropships in just about an hour.

Some o' those dropped ships seemed to be near the War Walls. Did it take most o' their flight path to deal enough damage to drop'em?

Only the first couple got really near the War Walls because it took us a bit to get the hang of it... after that (not to mention attracting a HUGE amount of attention), we were bringing those suckers down fairly fast.
