I'd watch The Wiz. It's not like he was OJ or something.

EDIT: In fact I'm downloading it now.

I guess the company that made fla-vor-ice is now the company that makes Otter Pops, they bought it in 1996. But they were 2 seperate brands, and still are from what I can tell.

And Otter Pops are a west coast thing.

Eh, I'm on the east coast and I've always seen them as Otter Pops too, with the little otter pictures on them. They are yummy delicious slushiness on a hot summer day. I got a box of popcicles last month because they came in yummy tropical flavors, but it takes me much longer to eat a box of popcicles.

They tend to be a bigger treat than I like to eat all at one time, and you've got to slurp them down fast. Otter pops on the other hand are a smaller treat (so long as you don't get the gigantic ones) and are a bit less messy to eat since they come in plastic tubes.. As long as you don't accidentally rip open a not quite frozen one by accident

My only regret is they almost always include Grape ones, and I've never been very fond of candy grape flavor. I don't even think it tastes at all like real grapes...

Wow, I didn't mean to stir up such a problem.

Yeah the guy was Acquitted from Child Molestation charges. Yeah his personal life got really weird.

He also tried to do a lot of good, including the USA for Africa movement, breaking the color barrier on MTV, and showing that artists can have broad appeal, amongst other things.

Judy Garland was a good actress, but also a drunk who had her own demons to deal with.

Noone is perfect in this world unfortunately, and everyone is entitled to their opinion.

Well, I understand that many people don't like talking about things like politics or religion, but I personally feel that it's healthy to address difficult issues and I wish more folks did. It's good for exercising the mind (even if it's not fun all the time) and well, I just don't think it's good in the long run to hide/withdraw from tough topics because they often times will have significant impact on everyone's lives down the line.

It's cool though, There are other forums to get that sort of kick fulfilled at apart from here.

There's a far cry from drinking and damaging yourself to molesting and damaging children. I thought we were going to drop this?

And yes it can be interesting to discuss politics and religion and other controversial issues. But there is a time and a place for serious and a time and place for fun. The Rookery has always been the latter. Aside from that I think serious issues over the net just become flame wars, it's better to discuss things like that when you have to look the other person in the eye.

Shecky has a point in regards to Judy. It seems like most actors of that era had drug and liquer issues some because they had NO idea back then what the damage was going to be when you mix those things together. There aren't many icons from that era of time that had spot free records BUT and here is the BUT... it didn't happen in OUR life time, at least most of us. Because of this, we don't remember or know about the scandal so they are remembered in the mind's eye as Judy: The Girl from Oz or Dean Martin, the crooner from the Rat Pack. But things that happen within our lifetime, OJs trial happened while I was in High School, MJ's issues the past decade, stay with us because we feel like we were a part of them.

I've never once felt let down by the actions of Cary Grant or Jimi Hendrix because I didn't put faith in the to find out that it may have been wrongly placed. They were long gone before I came of age. But all of us lived through the MJ & OJ trials and it became a part of our lives. And I'm just using them as an example because they have already been named and I don't dare mention anyone else for fear of escalting the subject.

For the record, I never liked MJ or OJ. It had nothing to do with their life, I just never cared for his music and until the trial, had NO clue who OJ was.

It's very similar to how our grandparents look at Wars from their generation vs the battles we are fighting now. I never lived through Pearl Harbor so I have no emotional ties to it. It was what it was. BUT I lived though 9/11 and have felt the fall out from it personally.

Not the least of which is such discusions are still forbidden as per the TOS.

It's too bad too but that's the way it is. I would imagine it makes for an easier time moderating.

I think the lot of us could have a fairly adult conversation...for a little while...until someone started throwing cupcakes.... :P
