War Mace...question on secondary!!!!!

So I have come to the conclusion that I want War Mace. Mainly because of all the AoE attacks it has. I have been looking back and forth for which secondaries I want.

I almost made a /SD. But could they withstand being in a room with 50+ people attacking it like my friend who is a elec/stone? How is it compared to stone?

Or EA. A lot of people state that they simply don't think EA is strong, while some really like it. I realize that it plays differently than other tanks, but again how is it compared to stone?

The others I might consider are SR (for Elude) or Invul. I have talked to a lot of people that really like Invul.

Inf isn't a problem for me. I am also aware that WM/SD is an endurance eater, but if I slot it correctly would it still be a pain?

Thanks a lot!!!

I have a level 38 WM/SD and I really like it. I had been playing on the 4th difficulty setting and doing pretty well. The defense and resistance seems good enough for me. Yeah, I likely get hit more often than the sturdier brutes but with all the knockdown/up and AoE (most importantly crowd control and shield charge which do good damage and knockdown as well) I find it pretty easy going.

Just started putting IO's in him and have a couple 5 piece sets of crushing impact, a couple 5 piece sets of scirocco's dervish and I think something in one of my shields and he is starting to perform very well with all the extra accuracy and recharge.

Try my AE Arc: Out of Place, Out of Time ID#304340.
Leave your Arc title in the feedback and I will check yours out as well.

Ok, well heres the deal. A stone toggles Granite on, hes got all the protection he needs. Now he is slow as hell and deal a 30 percent less damage. Now a Stoner can spend a ton of infamy and greatly mitigate those down sides to granite with IO sets. The rest of us brutes are in the opposite boat. We can build up our protection with IO sets to the point were you can "tank" anything in the game easily. In the end game both are going to be great. However if you going to try to compare Stoner granite protection base to any of the other bases well your going to fall short. Simply dont.

Go with what feels right to you. If wanted to start a Wm/Sd and that idea puts a smile on your face. Well there you go. It can be a potent combo. With the right IO sets, It can Dish it out and take it.

Ok, thank you for the advice. I went with Wm/Sd

Although one day...I'll make an /EA brute!

I'll second (and 3rd, 4th, 5th...) the WM/SD combo. I've been slotting Multistrikes into the whirling, shatter and crowd control, and they have been giving me > 70% endo discount along with extra positional defense. I really don't find myself sucking wind often at all, although I have never tackled an AV. Because I've been trying to get as much positional def as possible, this is my most heavily IOed character. Maybe that's why I don't feel the endo crunch.

More villain than hero these days

Make it a Stone/EA. With Fault, Tremor, EA Defense, and EA's endurance recovery to keep thing running, you'll rarely take a punch. Baddies will either be stunned or being slammed onto the ground.

Too many alts to list.

Stone? Haven't seen much people with that now a days. I thought SR would be good...but it looks like it was nerfed.
