Yeah I forgot a few, and it turns out jg actually has a pretty low post count, but you get the idea.
A lot get there by posts like "I agree entirely!" or "I like to do it just to be annoying" or other things that don't actually add anything to the conversation. I've always tried to mostly stick to "If you don't have anything to add then just read the topic and move on". It's served me pretty well in the 4 years I've been here.
My favorite to see is when people just type "+1". It's supposed to mean "I agree with your idea!" but I always read it as "Hey, up goes my post count!"

Some people would argue my placement in there, but thanks (Then again, I argue, that's at least half my posts.)

And TA, you don't have to worry about post count. You've got the Art count lead. (Though with the prices I'm seeing on some artists, I might just start catching up.)

Golden_Girl came to the US forum for a while. During the few months she was here, she flooded the forums. She was in every thread with single sentence responses. I think her longest post ever was 3-4 sentences. To me, it seemed she was monitoring the forums all day, every day. She probably got the 'Forum Cartel' title in record time.

It had a purpose: To lobby for animated hair. In every forum. In every thread. In every post.
That was put an end to even on the EU forums. (Remember, there's now a 'no lobbying' clause in the forum policy manifesto.)
It's not like we don't have worse here. From what I've seen, they're getting the short end of this deal. And that's coming from me, a 'Mer'kan.
Meanwhile, there are several posters over there I'm looking forward to regularly interacting with. They're extremely knowledgeable of the game, wryly witty, and quite erudite. It's like getting several more mes.
And if anyone's worried about name clashes... you can search the EU board.
