I was thinking about joining.
(For the new guys: "AV" is an Archvillain. At the highest difficulty level, you can run into these guys solo. At lower difficulties they show up as Elite Bosses, with about 1/4 the hit points.)
Mini-guides: Force Field Defenders, Blasters, Market Self-Defense, Frankenslotting.
So you think you're a hero, huh.

I made a Defender Cold/Ice on Freedom. My name is Zummi!
I'll wait till i15 to make a MM and cross it over to the heroes, besides defenders sound better PvE-wise.
[/ QUOTE ]
MM's are the consummate PVE character. Very versatile and easily soloable. With a set IO build i could probably solo max difficulty. With SOs, I have no problems soloing Challenge 3.
[/ QUOTE ]
You need IOs?
[/ QUOTE ]
Maybe some ppl can, but an AV on Challenge 3 will wipe the floor with me easily, let alone max.
[/ QUOTE ]
AVs will only show up on the max difficulty if solo. There will be no AVs on diff 3.
Dispari has more than enough credability, and certainly doesn't need to borrow any from you.

So I rerolled MM then :P but I've had a change of heart, I went necro/dark. I just need to get some play-time now, my costume looks pathetic compared to others. Why don't they just give you all the parts at the beginning? =( I'm not sure about the villain side though, I'm lv 4 and no one has or wants to party that I met.
Many costume pieces are purhcasable, so you have to buy the packs they are a part of. Some parts you unlock later with things like vanguard merits and you unlock capes when you hit 20.
Many people are stil too focused on the AE to team. I know there are teams, but they are hard to come by. I havn't had much luck even making my own. What server are you on again? Freedom? I have a low lvl villain and hero sitting there. I'll team with you for a bit.

Read the guide in my sig, PuG TFs, it'll even help you form "normal" teams. Using this method, I have NEVER been teamless, unless I wanted to be.
Thanks winged, but I'm remaking on the hero side. I can't stand mercy island for some reason...
Oh, I rarely do villains at all, but I can definitely help you out on heroes. What is your global and I'll shoot you a tell. Feel free to PM if you prefer.
The PvP at this game is 'fine'. You can certainly have fun with it goofing off with your friends. There will always be those who kit out to the gills though, so bear that in mind.
There are two ways a hero and vill can team together. In Cimerora (run Ashley McKnight in Cap or Montague Castanella in Steel) or Rikti War Zone (Access through Cap, Grandville, St. Martial or Atlas, Founders' Falls and Peregrine Island). You'll both need to be level 35 though.
I suppose you COULD meet in PvP zones to zone smash stuff but you would only be contributing to individual and not team gains.

You get a LOT of costume pieces off the bat, certainly enough to make a nice look for yourself. While you can unlock more through gameplay, vet rewards and puchases...you should be fine.
I didn't catch your server, but if I were you I'd hunt for your server's global badge/team channel. For example BMT of Champion, Infinity Badges, PinnacleBagdes (?) and so on.
Also see about joining a supergroup...but be wary of any that make you grind for Prestige quotas.
What else, try sending tells to people:
"Level 4 doing missions, want to help out?"
Since most people are IN mission instances, they might not see your Broadcast.
The busiest servers are Freedom and Virtue, you should find a team there for sure.

More than 90% of the costume pieces are already unlocked at character creation.
Also, Mercy Island is only from lv1-5, which takes a couple of hours. Then it's off to Port Oaks and Mayhem.
Let me know (through PM if you wish) what your character is and when you plan to be on and I'll try to come team with you Villain side.
1 - 5 does not take 2 hours. Even solo I can do it in 20 - 30.

Okay, let's be fair 'ere. The vast majority of costume pieces in this game are available from the start.
There are only two major categories of stuff that are level-based unlocks - capes and regular auras. What I'd consider a third are wings - those are craftable in-game drops, or purchasable with in-game currency.
But you don't need wings, capes, or auras to make a good costume. I've won costume contests on low-level characters before, and I'm not a design genius or anything.
Conversely, I've seen costumes that use the latest cash items, fancy veteran rewards, whatever, and still look bloody awful. What matters ain't the restrictions on costume pieces, it's your own design.
Also...you can save costume designs to local files. And once a character is created, you can still make costume tweaks at the tailor. So a costume can be a work in progress. Even if you ain't happy with it now, you can improve it down the line.
As for teaming on the villain side, I've generally not had problems. If you're level 4, though, I'd recommend toughing it out till level 5, and trying in Port Oakes instead of Mercy.

Thanks for all the input guys! I really do love this community. I have made my final character (for now) on Freedom. Zummi is the name and I'm a Stormie/Ele Defender. I met this great person in-game and he helped me get bone wings, so I like my character :P.
Also, I'm on the trial, so I can't join SG's, send tells, or anything really. Just allowed to talk in general help and team chats and get to lv 14 XD... You can always hunt me down and I'll party with you! lol..

Only if you bring S'Mores. 'Cause it's not a party without s'mores.
Now if you want to TEAM, then sure!
Zummy: You have like eight slots per server. You don't have to destroy your old characters to "reroll".
Welcome ! If you like the demo, you'll probably like the game even better!

Sure, with super powers that wouldn't be a problem.
<Next issue, Zummi goes to the super market>
On the topic of PVP - PVP in this game is broken. It used to be good, but after PVP IO's, everything just fell apart. It became less "Who's better with their skills?" and more "Who can afford the most PVP IOs?". I even know a few PVPers that will agree with this statement.
So you really do need to "kit out to the gills" in order to stand any chance, unless you're just messing around with friends.

Yeah. I was trying to make a main character, so I want my main to have the most desirable name. Now that that's achieved I can stop deleting people haha.
