First off, welcome to the game and to the forums!
If you Upgrade your trial account with the full serial code that you bought, then the free 30 days will be applied to the trial account. You don't need to make a new one.

To take this one step further - except for the 30-day "GAME CARD" which you can use to start a new (or upgrade an existing) account (usually 20 bucks USD), you can apply any "full retail" code to your account as long as that "edition" (GvE, Mac, Architect, etc) has not been applied before - and each time you do so will add 30days.
Also, I recommend getting the GvE edition if you haven't bought a full retail yet - the jump jet power you get is VERY useful.

You can also get any other edition of the game and buy the special items that come with GvE separately for $10. Read up on what comes with which edition.

I made my character in victory. I got the architect version because the jet power i don't think would have been useful since I got the super jump power. And after activating the code my trial account was due to expire on the 30th. In my account settings it says the same thing still after I have turned to the full version.

Take note that it is currently June. You're getting to a month and 10 days to play. That's assuming you were questioning the date and thought you weren't getting your month.
And just an FYI, the jump pack still has uses. New characters will get it right off. And on the hero side, it's incredibly useful in the shard, either with jump or with a purchased jet pack.
