This statement gives me just enough information to let me know NOT to click on that link.

Disturbing...

[/ QUOTE ]

Are you saying that Tom Welling wearing some of those would be.... disturbing?

[/ QUOTE ]

Yes I am... I would be so disturbed that I would have to ask him to remove them immediately for my own safety!!

naturally I was not being serious, I wasn't there, and probably won't be there this year, barring the right mega millions numbers

First we have to find out where the event will be so we'll know which is either closest to the event location of closest to the route from SJC to the event.

[/ QUOTE ]

You mean... they won't have us back at the Hyatt again this year? Did we freak out the little old ladies from the Quilting Convention next door a bit too much?

Also, for the record, if I should happen to win the Powerball between now and HeroCon, I'll happily pay for tickets for the lot of you to attend. Now if I can just find a way around that whole 192 million-to-1 odds thing...

No. All of the drinks tasted watered down at the D&B in Milipitas, including the Long Island Iced Tea.

The signature drinks were screwed up in how they were made as well as being rather weak.

For example, the Lethal Weapon is a layered shot served in a Hurricane glass shaped Shot glass. In Austin, not only did it take my breath away for a bit, it was beautiful as all get out in the layering. In California, there were no layers. At all. It was just the alcohols poured in together with no artistry. And it was weak as well as being ugly.

At that point, I stopped buying mixed drinks. I did have a few shots of Jager, but stuck mostly to water for the event.

I made up for it in Jager consumption at the after party. Until someone emptied my bottle that is.

Last year I planned a bit better, but I still have no clue what happened to my Jager bottle between the dining room and coming to in my room.

[/ QUOTE ]

Yeah, back in Austin those shots made me lose the ability to talk afterwards because of how strong they were. CA def had watered down "buy more because it wasn't strong enough versions". I....was part of the reason your Jaeger was gone that year, and I do apologize for it again sir. That year got quite out of hand

As for last year, as I recall, you left the bottle in Ex's room after you walked out. You had it with you during the actual dinner and conference, but after you disappeared and reappeared you were holding onto it before actually setting it down and leaving it on the counter. Hope that helps some.

Fun Fact: Jagermeister is actually a medicinal product of sorts. It's probably why it messes you up so badly if you drink a lot of it. You're OD'ing on medicine.

If it's anything like the one Moggie and Missy took me to in Austin, I'd be game for it.

It was the NCSoft event where they were getting ready for Tabula Rasa launch. The restaurant was within walking distance of the Dave & Buster's. And THAT D&B knew how to make some of their signature drinks properly, not that watered down crap we got at the D&B in Milipitas.

I'm curious to find out what the Justice * Junket will be this year.

EDIT: As long as we get proper FULL addresses this year. And complete directions.

You hear that Red Gren and Diamond Dragoon? I'm talking to you. I'll forgive infallible for his fallible directions to the liquor store since he was a visitor to the region as well.

[/ QUOTE ]

Ok... it's official! I'm worried about Buca di Beppo! If there's one in Texas, this one's not going to measure up. Everyone KNOWS everything is BIGGER & BETTER in Texas!

Seriously though, I do think it's a pretty good venue for a bunch of people, and that's why I suggested it. I'm glad to hear others also like the place.

Wha buh!?! I don't remember giving you directions anywhere!
The one time I tried, you insisted you would rely only on your GPS... (comedy & epic adventure ensued... )

Ok... I did goof up with the address of the restaurant. Sorry about that.
I guess I need to hire a fact checker/editor this time around...

Aaannd.... if we're going to go back to Holder's for breakfast/brunch again, I'll make sure to have the full mailing address on hand so you can enter that into your GPS and hopefully get to the right place in a reasonable, non-comedic amount of time. I make no promises though... I don't have any control over what your GPS says!

I love Buca di Beppo. If we can't get the Pope room, we request the Brat Pack room. Disturbing, yes, but my family is a bit off.

Buca? I'm game for that... I also fully intend to slip the hostess $10 to make sure they don't play "That's Amore" while we're there since I'm not really keen to hear my husband scream at the top of his lungs.

I'm down for Buca! BTW... I'm going to slip the hostess a $20 to make sure that they DO play "That's Amore" because I'd like to video BloodSpeaker2 scream at the top of his lungs. I may even slip another $20 to have them play it twice more, then we can all join in and serenade our own get together.

This is going to be a great weekend!

*winces* I think I'll be elsewhere when you do. Like another part of the state.

But Buca does have good food, and good desserts. And if the one in Mountain View is anything like the one in Vegas, we should have a killer time. (The owner of the Vegas restaurant was one of the nicest guys I've met in ages, and a very good restaurant manager as well.)

South Bay BdB locations I know of: Campbell, Palo Alto & San Jose.
Unless HeroCon is held in Mountain View or somewhere up the peninsula, I'd recommend the one in Campbell for relative ease of travel & parking.

Groovalicious! Although, this isn't Buca di Beppo, is it? Cuz that would be weird.

Either way, as long as they have a large enough dining area to accommodate all the people we're going to wind up adopting to be honorary Justicites, then I'm very much looking forward to it!

It is indeed.

And Red, I trust that whatever location you choose will be the best. Just give me an address and I'll be there.

Of course, there's also the question of what to do AFTER dinner...I'm up to play some pool like last year

I'd be up for that as well, or bowling or whatever.

So... it's really named after Beppo, the Kryptonian chimp? Because I checked out the link you posted, Arwen, and I didn't see anything about that on their website.

EDIT: Also, sweet Jeebus is that place expensive! Now, I expect an Italian restaurant to be expensive, having gone a couple of times to Carraba's, but holy empty wallets, Bat-Beppo!

I was just confirming the name and spelling. Make of the chimp reference what you will.

Also, BdB is a family style restaurant, so those prices aren't per person, but per dish. A large dish will easily feed four or five people. I will give you that even with that caveat it's still on the pricey side, but it's very good food, and lots of it.
