Spines/Dark build...help

If anyone has a YouTube video of a /DA NOT sucking, I'd love to see it.

Does this count?

Yep.
I have a 39 spine/da that's not nearly as fast as what you have going there. Impressive.
I predict future happiness for Americans if they can prevent the government from wasting the labors of the people under the pretense of taking care of them.

Very Impressive

Just out of curiosity, how much end redux did you put in your attacks?
[/ QUOTE ]
I'd have to check when I get home, but I know I have AT LEAST 1 End Red in every Attack (not including toggles.) Some might have two. Plus I have Conserve Power on 3 recharges.
The conundrum I run into every time I play is this- the build is very dependent on inspirations to help manage health and end, and even chopping through mobs, I use slightly more inspirations than drop. So invariably, I get to the point where I have little to nothing left in the tray.
At some point in battle, both bars drop to about 1/4 or so, and there's that very uncomfortable decision. If i use Dark Regen (2acc, 2Rech, 2ER), I'll blow out my end, my toggles will drop, and I will follow them. Or worse, DR hasn't recharged from the LAST time I used it. If I attack, I can use less endurance and hopefully take out a few, but it doesn't mean they won't take me with them.
Stay Gold, Paragon. Stay Gold.

I slot dark regen for 1 acc 3 end 2 recharge. I slot every toggle with 2 endredux, but I still don't have click attacks slotted for enredux (yet).
I use greens and blues almost every time they drop, unless I happen to be at full health or end. I also tend to turn off Acro and CJ once a spawn is at least 75% mezzed.
My biggest problem is the lack of Single Target damage, which is a big hole in encounters with tough bosses. Then the end costs really bog me down, and since all the minions are dead long before the boss is really hurt, I've got nothing to heal off of.
I predict future happiness for Americans if they can prevent the government from wasting the labors of the people under the pretense of taking care of them.

What ST attacks do you have?
Are you still running your AoE toggles with single bosses?
Does your slotting consist of standard SO's, IO's or set IO's?
I have a mix of common IO's and SO's, I'm not ready to delve into sets yet.
My ST attacks are lunge and impale.
Both are slotted for 1acc 3dmg.
No pool attacks. I tried jump kick, but it kept knocking teh boz to teh moon. (I respec'd out of it for hasten).
I turn off whatever toggles I don't need, I leave the damage aura's up. Usually murky cloud, CJ, and acrobatics, situation permitting.
I predict future happiness for Americans if they can prevent the government from wasting the labors of the people under the pretense of taking care of them.

My spine/da tears through anything. I often have people asking for my build. A long time ago I lead a superteam of all spine/da and it was a site to behold. We made it up to 30 which is not to bad for a random superteam in my expierence. This is my name sake character able to do pretty much anything he wants.
**Note. I also have shield wall +3% res to everything and the gladitors 3% def to all I am working on. Also this is a respeced character at 50.

Hello all, I need some help with my Spines/Dark build. He fights mostly x8 +4 groups so I was thinking about raising his everything lol. I thought about dropping OG entirely due to actually hurting me more than the actual enemies but I'm not sure if that is actually a good idea due to its wonderful ability to mitigate incoming damage. Any who without further adue here is my build. Please pick it apart

Dark/Shield Build Thread
Spines/Dark is considered one of the premier farming combos. It's anything but weak, but you have to IO the hell out of it to get to awesome status. I remember when I first got both damage auras working, w/all my armors turned on + CJ, my end recovery was exactly 0! A highly functional Spines/Dark build needs stuff like the Numi & Miracle uniques.
My Spines/Dark is around 33 atm sitting at around 30% S/L def w/Dark Regen up every 13s or so. I run solo at -1/x8 and just barely survive most fights, unless I just chew a purp ahead of time (always combine for purps) which makes the fight much, much easier. Lots of fun and very profitable (not even farming, just running my missions at -1/x8).
Of course, things get nastier w/like Romans or other -def mobs, but 53% S/L resists and a sub 10s Dark Regen should keep you alive long enough to kill most things around you.
An Offensive Guide to Ice Melee
I've been using my Spines/Dark for occasional wall farming in Cimerora.
It's a cheap, incomplete build, so I won't post it, but will say that Endurance is a huge issue, and you're unlikely to avoid that. Even after including the numina, miracle & PS uniques along with Conserve power, he has problems with blue, but nothing that cant really be overcome by the occasional pause or a few insps.
To be honest, I do think it's survivability is lacking, but I'm not sure if it's the set itself, my power picks, the absence of IOs or a combination thereof.
I've previously said I hate OG and CoF, and had dropped them in order to fit Tough/Weave in, which has bumped the survivability considerably, but after having listened to the many CoF, OG lovers out there, I'm seriously considering speccing it back in.
When all is said and done though, DAs main survivability comes from Dark Regeneration, and the skill is all in knowing exactly when and where to use it. Especially as it's mitigation numbers are nowhere near as nice as many of the other sets.
If you are putting money into slotting though, use the ragnarok Chance for knock down in throw spines, and the apocalypse chance for fire in spine burst. The first for added survivability, the second because Spine burst is your main attack anyway. You'll also want to keep it recharging as much as possible.
Following that, if you can draw enough Acc/end red from elsewhere in the build, Quills and Death Shroud work well with 3 damages and the 3 'chance for damages'.
Flavour with Build-up to taste, and anything minion class should drop without getting a shot of anyway.
And at the end of the day you're a Scrapper, and isn't the best defense a good offense?
