I think I mentioned this one other time, but I got my cats from very close to home - they were born to a feral mother under the shed in my back yard. I adopted two of them myself (two years ago this week as a matter of fact), tok one to the SPCA where she was adopted within 2 weeks, and the fourth kitten to another shelter, but I'm not sure what happened to her. Their mother is still feral, but after trapping her, and having her spayed and innoculated, she has become a real sweetheart and comes to visit me every morning and evening. She even sleeps on my back porch on those bitter cold PA winter nights.

We need a pet pictures thread I think because I don't want to sidetrack BBT's thread with pictures of Willow, and Jones and their mother, Shadowcat.

It is not sidetracking, or even thread jacking! It is a thread about kittehs, and all their wonders ; ) Sure, a Guardian pet thread wouldn't hurt, but don't shy away from posting kitty pics and stories here ^_^

I have had 5 cats. All have either been eaten by foxes, mauled by dogs or hit by cars.

So I am now a dog person... they have higher HP and more damage resistance. But I do enjoy mah cat pictures.

Ever been to the Russian lolcats site? It is funny enough to make you cubicle neighbors wonder what's going on over there

I find that there are very few foxes, cars, and dogs in my house. Did you never consider not letting your cats outside where all those terrible things could happen to them?

Anyway, my cats are two years old now, so most pictures of them these days involve them sleeping. As a result, I give you some pictures from when they were smaller and friskier:

Willow hiding under an upside down cat bed.

Jones trying to flush Willow out from under the upside down cat bed.

Success!

"I'll get you for that!"

Jones makes a strategic retreat.

"This is how you capture a pillbox."

"Oh, hi there."

A cut scene from Alien - Jones versus the xenomorph.

"Did you find my Stray Cats CD yet?"

"No, look for it yourself."

Hah! Jonesy! If Olivia wasn't a girly girl, you know I would have gone for that name ; ) Jones, the only real survivor of the original Alien tragedy. They got Ripley in the end >_>

Skipping work today, and walking Molly and Olly to the vet. I wanted to register them with the local vet any way, but the girls have been congested, sneezy, and getting gooky eyes. Molly is in high spirits today, but Olly is worn out, and extra stuffy today. Who needs work any way : p Kittens always come first!

Olivia is quite the rarity. I have heard that upwards of 90% of orange kitties are male.

When I first found my cats, I had no idea what gender they were, so Jonesy's original name was Buffy, and Willow's original name was Xander.

First ever pictures of the two, while they were still living "in the wild":

Xander -----> Willow

Buffy ------> Jones

Daaaaaw! Kittens in their natural element! Crammed in to tight spaces, looking helpless and cute ; )

And yeah, my sister was a bit surprised when I told her about Olivia over the phone. She had to work in Seattle, while my other sister and I went kitten hunting last Saturday. We had an orange kitty named Sparky back when we were all still kids, and I think Olivia is going to have a build a lot like his. She'll be a silly orange fluffball indeed ^_^

They are all tuckered out after their vet visit today. Decided to skip work so I could walk them down, and make sure they had lots of love today. I don't drive, but the vet clinic is only about 10 minutes away for me, and I want to keep Molly and Olly used to people, and going for walks. I want to try to harness train them, so once they stop being small and squidgy, I'll see if I can fit them in one.

They're all gookey eyed, thanks to their kennel colds, and the reason Olly did not want to eat this morning, was that she could not smell her food. I picked up some super stinky wet food, which they both love, and mixed it with some of their dry. They are happy, in spite of the medication I gave them, and I will surely suffer messy stinky poos later this evening as a reward >_<

Yeah, I live alone and I rarely have visitors - many of my friends are ultra-feline-allergic - so my cats rarely have any human contact except me and they head for the hills anytime someone knocks on my door.

Oddly though they will lay on my screened in back porch while my neighbor mows his grass not 4 feet awy from them. I guess they figure if they can't get through the flimsy little screen it'll also keep out the big strange man with his noisey machine of death.

Rock on. My mother-in-law has mourned the tragic loss of several dogs in succession she's let out to roam the countryside because she didn't want to walk them. They usually find them smeared all over the road in front of the house, but some made it to the nearby highway.

I can see her thinking she lives in a remote, safe area at first. I can't see her persisting in this behavior after the first death. After the umpteenth, it's become macabre.

Yer cats're cute.

One of my cats had me worrying like crazy the other night. See, I kind of let them hang out in the back porch area because they tend to just sniff around and lie there. This time though, some strays were hanging around nearby so they kept going over to make their weird "I don't know you" cat noises and body language. Im usually not worried, they don't get into fights or run off all night long but I saw one cat run in and went to grab the other. He was gone.
He came back in about an hour or two later with cobwebs all over him.

Shameless plug, if you want to see my cats I have photos of them on my DA page in my link.

I actually am sorry that I posted that. I believe my cats had lead a happy nine lives.

As an explaination: When you live in a town < 5,000 on the Canadian border, you live outside more than most people. The car fatality actually happened when the kitty was sunning herself under a house painter's pickup truck... it wasn't the result of a nearby highway.

Anyway, I've just been thinking about this too much, and didn't want you all to think I hate or treat my cats badly. They were happy litle lolcats! ... up until like those last 10 minutes.

Your ear, lend it to me.

Your foot, lend it too...

This foot?

Nuu, these feets!

I couldn't move for an entire hour once they decided to nap there >_>

I spit shine you now.

<--Shh, sleeping.

Longcat in training.

Round kitty, hasn't mastered the form yet.

Frisk had mastered the form, it served him well.

This toy, I will defeat it!

It defeated me...

I'll save you!

This button makes more kittehs?

Comic is boring, I eat you now.

Kittens, they can sleep any where, in any position, any time.

I has them now!

Visited my Dad's cats today too.

Smitty...yeah, he's a clever one >_>

Frack has the uncanny ability to ALWAYS be in the chair you want to sit in.

Disco, I can do it.

And if you think those cats are big, you must meet my sister's kitty >_>

Portia, I honestly don't know how my sister hasn't been flattened yet.

Jabba the Kitteh ^_^

It's a glandular thing for Portia, but Smitty and Frack? They're just pigs o.0

So did some of my friends.

I think declawing cats is mean, just incase they get outside or are outdoor cats they can't defend em selves, u can teach em when and when not to use there claws.

Only one of ours is declawed but she was my mother in laws cat first then she just ended up staying here I guess
