Looks like the Murder burger run is shaping up.
I have asked Scimi to post his appreciations, but his ISP is having problems.
This will be my first Murder Burger run, I have been dying to try the ostrich.
I have to say other than In and Out, we have a Willies here in Sac that does burgers so good your heart will asplode. Plus there's Hamburger Patties, where I like to stop in for the peanut butter burgers :yum:
I think we may mosey over to japan or chinatown for foods upon arrival the 5th. Both would please Scimi greatly.
And yes, Scimi and I do have a hotel room. We are thinking cheap hotel by the airport and several bottles of Thunderbird. Who's in?

If you and Scimi are going to stay at a hotel by the airport, I know a good dim sum place in Millbrae that we can meet up.
Dim sum...
Drool...
Mmm...Steamed Pork Buns.
Oh, those are the best!

I'm not sure, but I think I've been touched ....somehow ....

No Bob's Big Boys in my area of Cali, so can't comment on that restaurant. Carl's Jr. is okay, but not fantastic...slightly better than McDonald's and Burger King, but not by much. But if you want a really good burger, the little hole-in-the-wall greasy spoons is where it's at! I'll take a greasy spoon over a chain burger joint any day.

What she said.
The only thing Carl's Jr has going for it is the massive size of the burgers. Carl's Jr is also known as Hardees on the east coast btw.
Bob's Big Boy i have never heard of east or west coast and i've around. Did you mean Shoney's Big Boy? (aka Frisch's and Big Boy back in the day)
I thought it was called "Bob's Big Boy", it has that iconic 50's style fat kid holding a burger in the air as it's mascot, right?

There are Bob's Big Boy in Southern California.
As for Carl's Jr, I like their Western Bacon Cheeseburger.
There are a handful of Bob's Big Boy locations in California, but they're all concentrated in the LA area.

Yeah thats the one called "Big Boy's", "Shoney's", "Frisch's" and i am sure there were other names for it lol. Bob's Big Boy could be one of em but i have not personally heard of it. But that is the big fat boy with the checkered apron on and a paper hat holding the platter with the burger. Same same.
The burgers there were really a level above the fast food restaurants. As this was more of a formal/informal family restaurant. Now the breakfast bar on Sundays mornings? Thats probably responsible for 1% of my total body fat in my lifetime....
Freaking awesome!

The name varies from region to region. In my part of Ohio, they're Frisch's Big Boy. And their signature burger, the Big Boy, is quite good.

Yup. That is my memory as well Arwen. It's called Frisch's Big Boy in that area of the country. I grew up in northern Kentucky 10 miles from the border of Ohio. Mom worked at Frisch's actually now that i think about it.
In Florida it's just Shoneys and they drop the big boy out front though. The menu's all say Frischs Big Boy though.

Ah, different names...that makes a lot more sense! Looked up the Big Boy restaurant chain on the Holy Book of Wiki...if anyone is interested, you can find a list of the names for each region there.

Murder Burger is superior, not least because it also offers ostrich burgers which are nummy. Their frenchfries are so superior as to be irresistable.
[/ QUOTE ]
I *love* their ostrich burgers! I can't help but get them every time that I'm there! I'm also in love with their fried zucchini...they live up to the "to die for" slogan.
