Slax inspired me ***Contest Inside***
ahhh grammer and spelling on the intrawebzsss. lol
nice idea though. people need to start writing cause miness are the bestessss.
Picking favorites is always a difficult task. But in this case, it comes with a slight ease. Both my friends and my enemies keep me going around these parts. Friends to laugh with, fiends to laugh at. The grind can be monotonous at times, repetition through hollows, faultline, croatoa. But with my friends it becomes a blur of fun and intrigue.
Although at the time it was a headache - one fond memory was running a Dr. Q with my SG, someone fell asleep in the mission. So, we decided to move him into a separate channel in ventrilo and since I was the only one that had his favorite song on my iTunes, I went in, set my speakers to max and played "the Numa Numa song" until he woke up. Worked too.
My least favorite happens to be the grind, its a simple thing that bothers me really... I just want some diversity when it comes to me leveling up. High end content is nice, but I want something new for a new character. Cimerora is nice, but its basically a level 50 task force that 35s can hitch on. I want something new for my lowbies, the grind gives me more headaches than failed task forces - of which I've had my share.

I always thought one of the strengths of this game was the many different ways you could play it. You could be a role player, a min/maxer, a badger, a marketeer, a soloist, a PvPer, a farmer, or a fashionista. You could do any or all of these things or ignore them as much as you wished.
Recently the development team seems to be telling us, the players, that we are doing it wrong. That they didn't mean for us to PvP this way, or collect those badges that way, or farm here in this manner.
It's their sandbox and they can build it in anyway they want. But when they kick down the sandcastle I lovingly built and tell me it's parapets where too high, I hope they don't expect me to continue paying them for me to play the way that they want. If they continue to do that to other players they will end up with either an empty sandbox or one with the few souls left who will adoringly pay them to be told how to play. And then even those adoring fans will be told to leave when their payments aren't enough to cover maintenance.
If I had the power to change one thing, I would encourage the developers to adopt a design philosophy that recognizes and tolerates all those different playstyles without hamstringing them or playing those communities against each other.
I want to live in a tolerant and richly diverse world. Both online and off.

Neither was that.
You should have asked him to do better, that would be constructive. By the way, this is 2 paragraphs. And I'm asking you to do better.

(does that count as 3 paragraphs? I'm a tad burned out on writing after cranking out about 80 pages 3 weeks ago and preparing for the same feat over the next 6 weeks ). I think this idea is terrific and already know that there are at least a few people around here that can reliably string together words in a compelling way. I was hoping pum had posted; I didn't realize he was calling me out my name (note: "my" is not a typo).

Somehow my brain interpreted the thread title as "Sex inspired me."
Now I'm mildly disappointed.

Hi. My name is TopDoc, and I'm a powergamer.
City of Data. Mids. ParagonWiki. In-game real numbers. Player Guides forum. Posts by Arcannaville and others. I use them all. But I go further. A lot further. I test. I document. I make spreadsheets. I crunch numbers. I have an "unintended statistical advantage". City of Heroes is a very diverse game, and that diversity gives me all the tools I need to do amazing things. When I know everything I can, I craft.
I mix ATs, powersets, powers, and IOs to create extreme results. I craft silly overpowered characters who can solo Arch-Villains, Giant Monsters or entire Task Forces. I craft SuperTeams who can roll over the toughest challenges in the game easily. And when I want to earn a particularly difficult badge, I figure out the most efficient way to earn it. Sure playing the game is fun, but I like figuring out how to play the game harder, faster, and louder. And I like that CoH is diverse enough to allow me to do all this.
My name is TopDoc, and I'm a powergamer who plays City of Heroes.
Goodbye and thanks for all the fish.
I've moved on to Diablo 3, TopDoc-1304
