Question for any blasters who softcap ranged def

One or two breakfrees is usually enough to deal with any mezzes that get through. Knockback winds up being a bigger problem on the ground. If they knock you on your butt you cant maintain your range and that ranged defense winds up being worthless.
Very few times do I get held by +1 or 2 enemies, it's usually when I am fighting +3 or rarely +4 enemies I really get hit with holds.

Yea, I've KB much more annoying, as I got a nasty taste of chain KB with Rikti Drones hitting me over and over. I didn't actually stand up for almost 15 seconds of continuous KD.

Thanks everyone! I don't think knockback will be a huge problem due having some -kb IOs in the build. I manage pretty well on my fire tank using just one -kb IO, and the blaster has two. So holds aren't the soul crushing issue they are at my normal defense...good to know.
Actually it's because of my blaster that I stopped playing characters without status protection, heh heh. Even my controller is sonic.
Active (Freedom): Setna (Ice/Psi Dom), Arram (WP/KM Tank), Tesmiel (Elec/SS Tank), Astredax (Robot/Dark Mastermind), Operative Vidali (melee fortunata)
Retired (Virtue): Gaav (Inv/EM Tank), Baqra (Fire/SS Tank)
I have 53% ranged defense and making room for more and I have like a good 34% on AoE, plus I have smoke grenade at my disposal plus a hold and plenty of tools to keep foes at range.
Enemies that are 0, +1, and +2 I don't think I am touched, higher than that I usually try to hold the boss or any enemy that can mez and usually I don't get held unless I am on a big team.

So you won't play anything but a Force Field or Sonic Defender or Controller? Or a scrapper, tank or softcapped blaster?

And boring, I can't stand my /FF troller, they take forever to kill something solo, so I can't even imagine it on a defender. I mean don't get me wrong on a team /FF shines, mine pratically gives the whole team softcap defenses, but solo, I will put it this way, if I don't find a team within like 25 min of playing that toon I go to another. Mez protection is not a reason to play an AT or certain powerset. With the way insperations work you can always have some sort of BF available.

Hey, I've been playing since launch, I think I get to say what I like.
And claws, you forgot dominators, soldier of arachnos, brute, kheldian, stalker, not to mention masterminds, where being mezzed isn't a big deal. Or did you forget that villains exist?
