VEAT and HEAT Lock.

I went in to create a character this morning, only to find that my HEATS and VEATS were locked... considering I have a 50 on both sides AND have previously made a Widow and a Peacebringer, this comes as a surprise. Anyone care to comment one what might be causing it?

Log in with a 50, then log back out. The epic ATs should be unlocked then.

It's a recurring bug, but easy to work around.

in i12 they made it so you had to log in a 50 so people were unable to peek at the new VEAT powersets on the test server character creator on closed beta. It didnt work and everyone saw them anyway as a few people not in closed beta were able to log in their 50s for a few seconds thus enabling the VEAT creation.

Now its just an annoyance, as mentioned just log in a 50 and you are good to go

This bug, or something similar anyway, was in effect when Issue 3 first went into testing. You had to log in a 50 before you were able to create a Kheldian ... every single time you wanted to create a new Kheldian. This got fixed at some point (before Issue 3 went live, I think), but a variation of this has been popping up for quite awhile now.

I'm having the opposite problem! My account is less than a month old, and I've never leveled a character past about 14 or so. But for some reason, when I login and try to create a new hero, most of the time the epic archetypes will suddenly unlock for no reason! I never created any because it would obviously be exploiting a bug. But still, this is pretty weird.

Yeah, happened to me as well. I have 3 or 4 50 Heroes and 3 50 Villains, (including a Peacebringer and Widow, both 50) so when it showed them both grayed out I was like "uhh.."
