My OS is Vista and everything was fine and dandy until it installed SP2, now all hell has broken loose. My computer is currently in time out but when it gets out, I'll post all my stuff so maybe someone can help me. I can't even get it to load through Steam so that seems to be a waste of $19.99.
I think if I can just get a clean install from somewhere, I'll be able to load the game and play it. Unfortunately, I can't get a clean install when I try and bring it down on the FTP server.

Vista -- recently voted one of the top 10 technological blunders of the last 50 years.
Best thing I found to do with a Vista machine is .. wipe the disk and reinstall everything from the XP disks.
Be, best thing to do is create a post on the Tech issues and bugs forum.
Give them a detailed description of the problem, as well as posting a CoHHelper report, and a HijackThis log.
Well i would suggest uninstalling CoH and instead of running it through steam, log into your PlayNC master account and downloading the client from there and install away.

I'm using Vista SP2 at home, with a 8800GT card (185.85 drivers - latest as of May 6), game has never worked better on this machine.
Seriously.
I had random CTDs before, but after playing around with older drivers the trouble was gone. It came back after Issue 14 and since applying SP2 and using the latest drivers it is rock solid.

Been running Vista x64 Ultimate since launch and have had very few issues once Nvidia got their drivers worked out. Almost every issue has been a driver problem. Vista itself has been pretty solid.

My laptop came with Vista, and I've less issues with it than I had with XP. My video card died last September, but that wasn't Vista's fault.
Regardless, Be_ I sure hope you get that problem solved so you can get back to enjoying CoX.
