Victory United Events Times & Meeting Logs

Sounds like you are taking the right steps and attitude to me Logan. And at some point, I'll be able to attend an event or 2. (My worktimes make it hard though.)

Speaking of events, I'd like to toss out a couple of event ideas I've used in the past. These can be used by Victory United, P.E.R.C., or anyone else interested in doing something a little different.

1. Lecture night.
The basic idea here is to share your knowledge on a topic with an audience. The lecture nights would be regularly scheduled, but speakers can rotate as desired. (I recall P.E.R.C.'s own Scootertwo giving a lecture on Binds and Macros a few years ago in his VG base. Loved it by the way!)

2. Lowbie zone buffing hour.
The idea here is to help speed folks through the lower levels by encouraging them to street sweep in relative safety. And buff, debuff, or control that does no damage can work. Tanks/Brutes in Granite Armor taunting mobs to them, many AOE holds, anchor debuffs,.. the list goes on. Just be sure to let folks that don't want in on say, speed boost, tell you and respect it and it should go well.

Use these ideas freely or not as you desire.

It's not how many times you get knocked down that count. It's how many times you get up.

Ok DC let's think about this just for a moment if i was to not send a tell to the ones that are marked not looking for a group how many people on the server would i send a tell too?

Now when it is marked with a red flag then no i do not send a tell.

But just how many people set the flags?

Hm. I would say right at around 1%.

So maybe this would be a good way to go about this then when you log on set your toon to have a red flag?

But then I am sure someone is going to have a problem with that huh?

Look there is no easy way to do this. I am simply going to be a bad guy to some and a good guy to others.

Now here is where it gets good. What people do i make happy?

The 10% of people that don't like the tells or the 90% of people that do like them or don't mind them?

Now as far as the tells i send to people that are on teams. There is a good reason for this. I have pulled teams of 2 3 and 4 people in to the events gave them something to do get them teamed with more people that now they like to team with.

So again what do i do? 10% or 90%? I am sorry guys but the 90% will win.

Now I am not saying that the 10% don't matter i would give anything to find away to meet in the middle with you. But there is no easy way to do this

So with that said I am sorry that i bother you and i hope that at some point maybe you'll give us a chance or at least let us do what it is we are trying to do without falling under all this heat that we take from the 10% of you that seems to have some kind of problem with what it is we are trying to do.

Now IK for your event Ideas i love the 1st one if you could send me more info on what you have in mind i do believe we will try something along those lines

The 2nd one would be a little tricky in some ways mainly just finding people that would be up for doing something like that but i will bring it up at the next meeting

Anyhow hope everyone is having a awesome day

Hello all,
I am sorry to have to change plans at the last moment but, due to unforseen events, Saturday's (6/6/09) event must be changed. It will now be the Ouro mission to get the Exterminator Badge. Please meet in Ouro at 8pm est. Min. Level is 30. Sorry again for the inconvience. Hope to see you there.

Ok Logan, I sent you a PM on the topic of lectures and kept a copy so I can forward it to anyone else that might express an interest. I'm not shy about sharing this idea, so I'd like to add that in addition to the obvious larger groups like Victory United and P.E.R.C., lectures are also good activities for SGs and coalitions as well.

As opposed to a street sweeping mission, perhaps it would be better to do mission assistance? Like exemplar/malefactoring down to assist with safeguards/mayhems and TFs/SFs. Unless it would be better to combine this with the first idea so that the lectures are interactive.

Hi there again

thats not a bad idea either. but we do the TFs/SFs now and help with anything that we can along the way. but you do make a good point.

So ones again I'll say this. I'll have to run all your guys ideas by the rest of VU and see what we can make happen

I want to thank Victory United for a absolutely great ITF run last night. It was one of the best and funnest runs that I have had the pleasure to be on.

If any of you venture over to Protector I'll try to return the favor. Or in a few more levels, I can return it here.

First off I will have to thank Logan for trying to stay up with every thing here for me while I have been out do to an injury. I will start posting every thing that I can get from the people again on Sundays for the next week witch will be starting on Mondays event. I may not have all the info so you will have to cut me some slack for a short time.

Todays Event:
8pm – Villain Strike Force Night [Recurring Hosted by: Nightrunners Extraordinaire/@Shockwave1]
6/26 LRSF- Meeting in main build in Grandville. Min lvl 45

I would like to say sorry for not being on for the last 2 weeks do to this and also some of our event managers where out do to Internet issues and do to vacations. All events still have been taking place.

A general form for the events is as listed below so if I do not get around to posting do to being so busy you will know whats going on and you can also whisper Logan in game about 15 – 20 mins before the event takes place. His globals have been posted before by Logan on an earlier post. You may have to try all three globals but he normally uses his first one.

If you would like me to look up the events in game you can hit me on my global @roadkill242

Thread necromancy!

I know several people here have been searching for good arcs, have published arcs, or have been looking to get into non-farms in AE so I'm giving this a bump. I know they alternate sides per week (I believe it's blueside this week) and it's generally good fun. I'm not part of Victory United but I would love to try to team up with the likes of Defenstrator, Aramina, and others if they show up. Blueside is at King's Row while Redside is in Cap Au Diable.

There other events are pretty fun too though AE is the only thing I do with any consistancy.
