((Good to hear, heh. Welcome back. ))
The forest had not creased its rustle behind the boy, and even after Pax had come upon him, plants moved to and fro in the approach of a certain Tsaiv that sounded rather upset with the dragon she now pursued.
"Miss Jovi!" the exasperated Nadpráporèík practically barked, the constant presence of a branch between her and the Tornado only more of an annoyance, "What are you thinking you're doing? Get back here! Naj! Halt! Stop! Would you-?! Listen, you-! You need to get going before-! Miss Jovi, are you even listening?"
Nope. Not at all. Nuh-uh. Sarah had heard the scream of a child and wasn't getting a single word right now, making her way doggedly through the woods in the straightest of lines until she came upon the boy and Paxtera. Her eyes went wide with shock at his terrible condition.

"Hey, hey, no one's going to hurt you." she told the boy with gentle, reassuring tone, going into a crouch as she approached him, a hand extended toward him to take, "Come here. Everything's going to be okay."
Her other hand worked the long blue bag free of her back in the meantime, laying it on the ground beside her, then retrieved a bar of chocolate from one of the side pockets. The Tornado offered this as well, "Here, eat. I know it's not much, but it'll give you back some energy."
The Tasiv only gave a huff, crossing her arms as she leaned against a tree with a disappointed look to the Kheldian - as if Pax had somehow caused Sarah's sudden deviation...

He looked to the forest having heard the kid as well. "Hmm I need to check that out." He rushed into the forest following Pax trail to where the child was.

"No one going to hurt you lad or there going to suffer. Everyone knows how we Elves are protective of the young." He said as he came to the clearing brushing his hair behind his ears.
Ooc, yeah I know that's just me being lazy Devious, lol. I'll call her by her name from now on if it bothers you, just didn't want to confuse myself since you haven't told any of the other characters your name, and it wouldn't be to good for me to slip up and have them call you by a name they don't know yet.
Hello new friend, it's not often people take on the challange of rping small children and actually be serious about it. Props for you!
Ic: Adam didn't have a chance to argue any further with Mirravin. As soon as the young boy's voice hit her ears she made her way to his side, and while the others where comforting him, she took it upon herself to heal the wounds he'd gotten from his race from what ever he was running from. She thought it odd that a child of such a young age was in the forest so full of unforgiving man eating beast. Although it might explain why he was in such a poor state.
Adam not knowing what else to do at the moment, followed the group now investigating you small boy who seem to have just dropped into their laps so to speak. His sad state reminded him of himself when he was younger, and he couldn't help but to feel sympathy for the young boy. He know what it was like to be starving, scared, and alone.
"Hey kid, you gotta name?" He asked the boy simply. He didn't want to come across as the mushy caring type like the others seemed to be.
After Mirravin had gotten most of the boy's wounds healed she pulled the robes off of her back, to reveal The small pinkish purple breast plate that covered most of her upper torso, and a silky almost see though knee high skirt that hung daintly from her waist, and a pair a fluffy feathered wings seemed to magicaly appear from her shoulder blades.
Mirravin used a bit more magic to shrink the robes down to the boy's size, and placed it gently over his shoulders.
"Now I know it's a girl's robe, but It will keep you a bit more clothed than you were before." She told him is a soft motherly voice.
"Now,I think we need to take this young boy back to the tavern. I know it's not a place for children, but at lest there I can order him some food and maybe some water to drink." she spoke mostly to the group, although she'd already decided she'd be going though with this plan whether anyone agreed to it or not. She was a sucker for small children, and her motherly instinct always got the better of her, causing her to drop all issues to tend to a child in need. Not that it was frowned upon, but it kept her from getting her job done as quickly as she should have.
((Thank you ))
It all happened so fast. First there was only the one girl that came, then more appeared through the clearing. Then some more came until they all were relatively surrounding him. He let out a small scream as one reached out for him. She had wings! His heartbeat slowed a little as he looked at the chocolate bar, and his stomach grumbled. He slowly reached his hand out for it and grabbed it, then sat back down.
"T-Thank you," he said, and a shard of a smile slipped out of his mouth. As he fumbled to open it, another woman approached, and she had wings, too. His eyes widened and he started to slide back before he felt a tingling at his knee. Looking down, he noticed that the new cut on his knee was slowly shrinking, and then was just gone. He reached out and touched it, and the smile grew wider.
"Thanks," he said, this time without stuttering from fear or tears. He took a small bite out of the chocolate bar and was surprised by how good it was. It melted in his mouth and had a sweet taste. He took a bigger bite and nodded quickly, evidently meaning 'It tastes good!'.
After he swallowed, he answered Adam "My name is Sean," then looked around to no one particular in the group "Um, has anyone seen my Mom? We're playing a game, but I'm not very good at it," he said sheepishly, looking down at the ground.

"P-Please...D-Don't hurt me," He said and was choked for a second by his tears.

"Don't worry, we won't hurt you", Pax replied. "And we won't let anyone else hurt you, either." She did wonder why he thought she might hurt him, thought on second though given the stories the others had told so far it probably wasn't that unreasonable assumption.

Pax calmly glared right back at her. "Don't look at us like that, it's not our fault Sarah actually cares about other sentient beings regardless of species." That the Tsaiv didn't, and that to not do so was bad, she left unsaid - but very much implied.

"Sounds like a good idea to us", Pax replied, with a look to Sarah and Laz as if to ask if they wanted to come too.

The Tsaiv didn't answer. Sentient beings - pah! Humans were dregs, barely qualified to be called sentient. The boy was evidence enough. More than likely, some other humans had done something to him, or his mother, or whatever, but she was sure humans were the cause. They always were. Always bickering, always fighting, always warring...ugh, why was she even still here?!
"There," the dragon meanwhile smiled good-naturedly, the boy wolfing down the chocolate, "that's better, isn't it?"
She slipped off her denim jacket in the process, intending to wrap it around the ragged boy - and probably getting a stare or two form Adam and Laz for her trouble; her sleeveless black crop top didn't leave all that much to the imagination - but then Mirravin arrived on the scene and preempted her offer. As the fox-tailed woman took over the situation, the Tornado wrapped the jacket into a roll with cheerless eyes, feeling usurped by the other woman.
Zuzana used this as an opportunity to step beside the crouching dragon, performing a tap on her shoulder to get her attention, followed by a characteristic see-they-don't-need-you look. Sarah gave abut a sigh and a nod in response, feeling pretty much that. She rose again and picked up her bag.
She did take note of the look from Pax, and indeed returned it, but with one that didn't look at all happy. It was easy to tell something was bothering her, but she didn't say anything about it, and likely wouldn't unless asked or otherwise confronted.
At a motion from Zuzana, the Tornado set herself into step once more, and the two began to head out again...

"Leaving again, huh?" Slagg grinned, pointedly addressing Sarah rather than her companion. "Don't rush off on my account babe."
He was still leaning against the tree, having made no move to help the kid. Everyone else seemed to have that well in hand anyway.
Sean took the fluffy jacket and wrapped it around himself, rubbing his face against it and smiling. "It's so sof-" he began to say before Tornado and Zuzana set off on their walk towards wherever they were going. The discussion about the tavern the others were having lost on him, he got up and followed his new friend.
Sean made no effort to be sneaky. He simply followed her, taking small bites out of the chocolate bar every so often. He didn't speak much, and he was careful to not step on any branches (he was barefoot, after all). He also made no effort to look back at the others.

"Geeze, who pissed in your cereal this morning?", Pax asked irritably before the two got out of hearing range, the Tsaiv's persistenly sour mood getting on the Kheldian's nerves. Since the kid seemed to want to follow them, Pax decided she may as well tag along as well. "Mind if we join you?", she asked as she flew up beside them, like Slagg very obviously adressing Sarah with the question rather than Zuzana.

Sarah almost twitched at the sound of Slagg's voice. She hadn't thought he'd followed them, and much regretted it being so. That man scared her.
Babe...
The word truly made her wish he was here right now. Babe would've folded that guy up like an accordion if he tried anything. Well, Zuzana might've been able to as well...but still, having Babe around would've made her feel a lot safer right now.
"Well, actually..." she answered Pax, not entirely sure how to put this, especially with the boy now following them, "Um...I have to go. Home, I mean. Back to the island. Even if it's just to check. I'm probably not making any sense, am I?"
"Not really, no." Zuzana remarked with casual indifference, "Which is likely good thing."
The Tornado stopped at this, the insinuation the she couldn't trust the Kheldian getting a pout in response. She turned to Pax, telling the Tsaiv, "No, it's not. Keep the others away a moment, okay?"
"Wait, what?" the Esertosian looked self-consciously to the human child and back as Sarah took Pax aside into the forest, "Ohhh no no no no no, I can't-! Miss Jovi! Where do you-?!"
But they were already gone, leaving a baffled Zuzana with the boy. She looked down at him out of the corners of her eyes, unsure of what to do next in a typical stick-the-soldier-to-the-kid situation. In this case, the addition of 'kid' taking all precedence over 'human' now made itself known as well.
"Ssssooouuuuhhh..." the Tsaiv murmured, licking lips that had suddenly become quite dry, "...what is your name?"
She would still make sure people didn't barge in on Pax and Sarah though - well, at least the ones she could stop.
"I'm sorry about keeping you in the dark so much." the Tornado began once she believed the others out of earshot, "I know you don't like the whole mysterious island thing, but I really do have to keep as much of it secret as I can. See, I...well, you remember how Johnny's a thief? I'm a lot worse..."

"I'm Sean," the young boy answered as Pax and Tornado stepped off into the woods. At once, Sean became slightly uneasy, as the primary person of this group that he trusted left, leaving him with a being he had never seen before, in addition.
Sean became quiet now. Glancing towards Zuzana, he slowly backed away a couple of feet and slumped next to a tree. Finishing off the last of the chocolate he dropped the wrapper next to him. After a few moments, Sean glanced over to the Tsaiv, his head cocked to the side. "You look funny," he remarked with a straight face, and the innocence that could only be mustered if one knew no better.
The Esertosian couldn't help but smirk at this, countering with a playfully sarcastic, "I look funny? How you think you look to me? How are you even hearing what I say with these tiny ears?"
She stepped beside him and crouched down, picking up the wrapper, "Things like this should now be thrown away in forest. Remember: treat where you live with respect and you will be returned respect. My name is Zuzana..."
--------------------
"...the first and highest law we have is that no one leaves the island." Sarah began to explain, visibly uncomfortable with the subject, but feeling that Pax deserved a reason for her elusive behavior, "And it really means no one. So if somehow, somewhere, anytime word got back to the island that I left...well..."
It took her a while to force the words out, "I'd get executed. That's all there is to it. Even Babe and Drake couldn't help then. And you know, I kind of like being alive, so I really can't take any chance of someone I've run into ever finding the island. Can you understand that...?"

Slagg rolled his eyes, pushing off the tree to take a few steps away from the pair. Great, not only was the freak a [censored], now she was a hippie [censored].
The two other chicks were off whisperin' to each other and the sudden appearance of the brat had made sure that any further info about this house thing was put on hold. Slagg wished he had some halfway decent music to listen to. This little dimensional hop was rapidly becoming one of his least favorites.
Mirravin sighed and let the group go for now, she knew it was only a matter of time before they regrouped, and after seeing Sarah's reaction to he stepping in she decided to ask her if she wanted to buy the boy's meal. She was thinking of even pretending to have miss placed her coin purse. The boy seemed to have a better liking for her at any rate. In the mean time she chose to stick with Zuzana and the rest of the group, seeing no reason to easedrop on such a privet conversation.
Meanwhile Adam took a real liking for the boy. He reminded him too much of himself to ignore.
"Sean you say? Well then my name is Adam. What game were you playing with your mummy?" He continued on as warmly as he could, while also trying to push what Mirravin had told him to the back of his mind.

"More or less", Pax replied, nodding. "Though we still don't understand why you're so secretive to begin with. Do you have some kind of ancient and extremely powerful something to protect or some such?"
She grinned. "And we'll find your island eventually. Don't worry, we won't tell anyone though. You secret's all safe with us."

Sean instantly flinched when Zuzana crouched down, the upper half of his body moving away. After a moment he relaxed and listened. "I'm gonna call you Zuz," he said, making the decision final before she could answer.
Adam crouched and the flinching was less visible this time, although it was obviously still there. He cocked his head to the side, remembering. "We were playing hide-a-seek except in the woods. And my Daddy brought us all here and they told me to walk one-hundred times and then go to sleep, and when I wake up try to find them. I did it, and now I don't know where they are,"
Sean started getting teary-eyed now "And my Mommy will think I don't like her any more, and if I'm really slow then Daddy will get mad at me and then I'll have to stay inside while the bad stuff gets off of me and then-" he said, rambling incoherently as he burst into tears.
Sarah couldn't help but gulp. She knew the Kheldian didn't mean them with any harm, but those words scared her. Though she chose not to say so, she wished that was one worry that wouldn't come true.
...aside from the humans?" she replied thoughtfully, honestly attempting to recall another reason for the law, "No. At least...I don't think there is. We've got a big volcano, but that's about-"
Sean's sudden outcry cut her sentence short, prompting the dragon to swiftly return to the group - and with a quick glance to Pax, a wordless 'come on', she did just that...
--------------------
"Hey, hey, no need for cry." the Tsaiv woman wrapped her armored arms around the boy, who even in his present state may have noticed that Zuzana's left arm made contact discernibly different than her right; as if one arm had less tactile sensation than the other.
As the Tornado returned, she distanced herself a little again, arms outstretched with hands on the boy's shoulders, "You have people now. They will help. You will find again your family."
With that, she turned to Sarah, "Ready to go?"
When the dragon didn't answer right away, instead looking to the boy with concern, the Nadpráporèík stood again and gave her a fairly stern look, asking again, "Miss Jovi, are you ready to go?"
This time, the Tornado snapped out of it, confirming with a nod and reaching down for the large blue bag. Instead of picking it back up, however, she unzipped the main compartment and brought to light something that could've only been described as some kind of large-bore sci-fi bazooka.
Rimmed in white composite plating that sometimes exposed black wires and circuitry in gaps here and there, the business end not only sported a trio of what looked to be scythe blades, curved in toward the line of sight. Just before that sat a grated rotator, though at present its slits moved not. Still, the thing had bulk, and looked decidedly heavy, yet Sarah didn't even seem to notice.
"Your ship first, right?" she queried curtly of the Esertosian, adjusting a few settings on her side of the monstrosity with one hand while supporting the thing itself with her other's lower arm. She received a confirming nod in return, then looked about for a clear spot, "Okay, ready..."

"Something to look into, perhaps", Pax replied, before the dragon stopped mid-sentence and took off. Pax followed with all due haste, stopping to watch as Sarah produced something she vaguely remembered, but had never seen out of its bag before. "Nice toy", she commented, not bothering to ask what it did since by all appearances she was about to get a demonstration of exactly what it did anyway.

Sean's body jumped as Zuzana reached around him, but he instantly relaxed and started breathing easier as he realized it was a simple hug. The small boy looked up at Sarah as she reached into a bag and took out something which he had never even remotely imagined. As the pair started to leave, Sean's shoulders slumped, but he seemed to be all cried out.
"I don't think I'm allowed to come, huh?" he sadly asked no one in particular.

Pax laughed and went to stand beside the kid, to be as much of a reassuring presence as she was ever likely to be. "Don't worry kid, we'll stay here with you. If that thing does anything like what we think it's going to do then we won't be allowed to go either, anyway."

"Well..." the Tsaiv woman put a hand to her neck with a concerned, thoughtful expression, looking from side to side, "...to be technical, Kapitán Sereejv is a friend to me, so permission is something I could get. I do not believe you would be much comfortable on board warship, though."
"Yeah." Sarah agreed seemingly aiming her contraption at thin air, as if waiting for something to happen, "Plus it would slow down what you're still doing, wouldn't it? I mean, if you really want to come, I guess...but I really think you've got a better chance of finding Sean's mom here, and-"
"Found it." something else caught the Tornado's attention, the dragon giving an immediate pull of the trigger. The device's rotator spun up with a howl that mimicked that of a Chronosphere, stator blades within bringing forth a faint aura of murk and mire that quickly spread along the central axis.
Not a few meters away, the air in Sarah's line of sight coalesced into a small, dense sphere of foggy black, spinning quickly about multiple axes. Tiny tendrils emanated from the thing like phantom hair, and it periodically contracted and expanded. With each second that passed, it grew darker and the pulsations more frequent, until at about four the whole thing just exploded, expanding to at least four meters in diameter, an ominous, otherworldly groan accompanying the phenomenon.
The Tornado lowered the bazooka-like contraption, the device having returned to an inert state upon the sudden expansion. It appeared to have nothing more to do with the now only gradually roating sphere of murk, which now resembled a small, dense, and of course round lighting storm more than anything else. It seemed to produce wind too, though very little and in the opposite direction of what should be expected. The only thing the apparition was powerful enough to truly 'suck in' was air - and a few dark particles that only became visible when they got close enough to it.
"Stable." Sarah gave a nod to Zuzana, slinging the blue bag over her free shoulder, and turned to Pax again, "Well, I guess until we see each other again. You'll find his mom, right?"
It was a question that wasn't really a question. She knew the Kheldian would, barring some major catastrophe, but couldn't help herself regardless. It was fairly easy to see that she felt bad about leaving, but in addition to the worry about people back home having gotten wind of her departure and wanting her dead, Zuzana's push to do so was presently the strongest influence...

The sobs continued as Pax approached the small boy. At the sound her voice, he looked up with a sparkle of hope in his eye, and almost got to smiling before he actually looked at her for the first time. The glimmer of hope turned into a sparkle in his eye as tears started to run down his face again. He dove forward on his hands and knees and crawled forward a foot or so, then turned around and shielded his face with his arms.
"P-Please...D-Don't hurt me," He said and was choked for a second by his tears. He coughed and let his arms down to rock his head forward from the force of them. "I'm just t-trying to find my M-Mommy," he whimpered again, slowly curling himself up, his eyes wide in terror of the new stranger.
