I really really wish they would give us this opportunity. I hate the name of my SG.
If you want to be sneaky about it, you could always create some "obscure" web comic that somehow incorporates the name of your super group. As long as you don't let on that it is your comic, you could then /petition your group, direct the GMs to this comic whose imaginary property you are using, and get the name genericed. I'm guessing that if a SG gets genericed then they get an opportunity to rename it. 
I think it's a coding issue that is difficult, it may have a ripple effect since ease SG is a number in the system.
I also think it's a good device to make people chose their sg name carefully, as well as who they sg WITH. There should be a consequence for making poor decisions. (granted that may not be the only reason, there are circumstnaces that aren't entirely the user at fault )
I think a CSR once told me to keep asking for it. That was like in issue 8, so I figure for whatever reason it's a bottleneck for sg's and users from growing too fast. :P

I would like the ability to rename an exsisting Super Group. Times change and I've grown tired of the current name. Plus, I don't want to start from scratch and rebuild the base just for a new name.
I like the idea to have an option to rename a Supergroup.
I support this, I would love to rename my blueside SG..
I'm only ladylike when compared to my sister.
I personally have no desire to rename my SG/VG, but I think the option should be there nonetheless.
Now that the "Superleader" rank exists, I could get behind this idea.

Maybe VGs should be issued something like an ID# before name changes.
I totally agree on this. I have ask about this for a while now. It would be nice to ge a rename token or be able to buy one. How ever it happens, I would just be happy that it did.

I'd love to have the option to rename SG's and VG's. Some people "inherit" SG's and it'd be good to be able to rename them.
You've given us the option to rename toons, would it be that hard to allow us to rename Supergroups as I don't have the time or resources to start from scratch and would love the opportunity to rename my supergroup.
