Map stats ? What exactly can I get on a map ?

Basically I see a set of stats such as :

Mission Map Details
33 allowed ambush, boss, patrol or destroy object details. (33 Front, 33 Back)
20 allowed rescue, escort. ally, or defend object details.
(20 Front, 20 Back) - 65 allowed floor collection items. (65 Front, 65 Back)

Now when I try to add certain items I roll right over the top of "allowable" very often.

Essentially Im confused by the above designations. Can anyone explain just how much stuff I can put on to a certain map, and what counts against what ? I keep running into limits that I just cant figure out what im conflicting with.

I appreciate any help - thanks !

you can't figure it out.

they are not distinct - 65 allowed floor collections may overlap entirely with the boss spots - or it may not.

You just can't tell.

So theres no way to figure out this confusion then Doh ! Why put stats on at all then.

Who knows. I've used several maps that say things like, "8 allowed hostage-type things" and how many hostages can I put down with no other objectives?

4.

Or maps saying I can put 64 (example) glowies down, how many can I put down with no other objectives?

Some maps 32, some maps 63.

I don't understand a lick of it.

I've run into the same problem. I tried a map that said 8 possible patrols and or ambushes but by the time I was done it was only allowing for 6. Maybe it had something to do with the type of the group of enemies I was working with...shrug.

As Culex indicated I don't understand a lick of it either >.<

My final mission (the one with 15 chained boss fights) used a map that said 21 allowable things, but after I'd put 18 bosses in it didn't let me put any more. The map still had spawn points to spare, though. Luckily, 15 proved to be enough.

I'd kill for a colored overlay on the maps-- like the red "tough zone" indicators on the city zone maps-- that indicates just what the heck is 'front', 'middle' and 'back'. As far as outdoor maps go, it doesn't seem to mean anything at all, unless there are buildings you can enter.

I'd kinda hoped by now that some obsessive-compulsive soul would have worked up something like that, at least in part. I know I'd go nuts trying to figure it out myself, though.
