"Mission Pacing"
ramped up has the mobs start at lower level at the front of the mission, and get higher in level towards the back. So it starts easy.
flat has mobs the same level throughout
staggered has higher and lower level mobs scattered throughout
I think with flat they can still vary by 1 level.
Next to every field is a question mark icon which, if clicked (moused-over? I forget) will pop up a tooltip explaining what that field is meant for.

Okay, lower compared to what? I.e. will you start with blues at the door and end up with yellows in the back, or do they start at your level and go up from there?
Pretty much, yeah. Sometimes, you'll even get greens at the door for ramp-up missions.

So there's no way to start at your level and go up as you move toward the back of the map?
flat and staggerd as dugfromthearth says.
for ramped up you can indeed start with greens and end with yellows.
I do believe there is a backloaded option but haven't tested that one yet.

I guess ramped-up with a higher difficulty setting would allow to achieve that...
You know that one parameter you set for a mission called "mission pacing"? I think it's right below the map choices, and it has some vague terms like "flat", ramped up", staggered"...
Can anyone tell me what the flaming carrot that sets? It may be an unrelated issue, but I'm trying to easy-up a mission and I keep getting yellow-con minions and orange-con leuts, even on heroic. Does that affect this?
