"Clone" a character back to level 1?

I have certain characters that I played once upon a time who are high-level now. I'd like to play these characters up from level 1 again, but it's difficult to reproduce the exact look of the character by manually making a copy. Could we perhaps get some functionality to either "clone" a level 1 version of an existing character on the same server? If not that, then maybe could we get a way to download a character's costume and scaling settings to a local file that can be reused?

You can save the character's costume, you know.

Nope! Didn't know that. How?

Go to the Tailor, edit whichever costume you want, and press the "Save" button in the upper right corner.

Sweet! Thanks!

One sec...Can you only load the costume at the tailor, or can you load it during character creation, too?

Awesome! Glad somebody already thought of this. Thanks!

Just a note, it won't save height settings (those aren't stored as part of the costume). For that, you'll have to eyeball it.

We'll always have Paragon.

But, I've found that Hellions are all roughly 6 feet tall, so if you go find one of them to stand next to, you can guess off that.

are you sure about that?

I'm pretty sure the first thing in the costume save file "Scale" is the height

I don't actually have any proof past experience in custom critters in the MA, but they save the same file info.

No

Buffalo buffalo Buffalo buffalo buffalo buffalo Buffalo buffalo

I think you underestimate our fools, sir.

Why /duel is a bad idea

I think it saves it but it doesn't recall it. I had a costume for a woman in a nightgown saved, but the first version was four feet tall and I had to change the height from that on each variation I made to populate my mission, but that could have been an error unique to MA.

Wait . . . We can save and reproduce costumes that have items that are no longer available?

You can save, but you cannot load it back as is - you'll get an error message

There is a button on the load screen to try and fix the error(s), but from my experience it's hit or miss...

Just to be safe if it's an older toon, I save the costume, and try to load it back. if it works, swell, if not, I'll try to identify the pieces that needs to be corrected - sometimes it's just the name of an option that was changed (ex. "Sharp"), and just re-selecting again will do the trick.
