Repeating Ambushes

Quick question!

How can I make ambushes repeat one after another like they do in standard missions. I'd like to get 3 waves of attacks in my mission after I rescue the hostage, but I don't see an option for it.

Thanks in advance for any and all replies!

Can't be done currently. One ambush per goal, and hostage rescues count as a single goal.

not entirely true, they did up ambushes to 6, and you can chain 4 to a boss, 3 health and one death.

Possibly make an ambush with a custom boss that has ambuses tied to him? Not sure if you can do that one or not. But placeable bosses you can definatly multi chain

Yes, but he was asking about chaining three to a HOSTAGE, not to a boss.

Also, note that 4 chained to a boss is certain death for most soloers.

Thanks for the input. I was talking about chaining them to a single hostage rescue. Guess I'll have to make do. Maybe add a boss along the way to the rescue to spawn an extra off of him.

That aside, I loved your Moonbase arc! Great work!!

Doesn't seem to be true for me. The most ambushes I can ever have in a mission is 3.

That was true, but with this morning's patch, they upped the number of ambushes to 6.

Here's an idea. Hostage spawns a boss in the middle of the map (make sure it's linear). Boss spawns additional ambushes. Presto, you have a good challenge en route to the exit.

I was kinda hoping to generate this behavior by chaining ambush 2 to trigger off of ambush 1 being wiped out, then ambush 3 to trigger off of ambush 2, etc., but an ambush being completed didn't seem to be an event that was detected.

I ended up doing a workaround where I had boss 1 appear, then chaining the spawn of boss 2 to the death of boss 1, then chaining an ally with some enemies guarding her to the death of boss 2, then chaining another ally with some enemies guarding him to the completion of ally 1, then chaining an AV to spawn after you rescue ally 2.

I set this up for a "defend your SG base" mission where enemies start showing up while you're hanging out in your base, then some of your allies start responding to the alarms set off by the first enemies, then finally an AV shows up that you have to fight with the help of your buddies.

This seemed work pretty well except for the fact that the faux ambushes don't actually rush the player, the player has to proactively go look for them.

I have not tried this, but what if the boss had a rez power. Would the ambushed respawn based on health levels?

Well i was just trying to figure out a way to get what he would want.

You could tie a boss to spawn on the hostage, then chain 4 ambushes to the boss, soo 5 ambushes.

Now, it all depends on the mob and difficlutly of the ambushes. Right now i have a lowbie hellion/skull arc which has 3 ambushes tagged to the main boss and a hostage in the last room.

Soo far ive solo'd it with a scrapper and blaster with out much trouble at all. one was lvl 12 the other 14, Perhaps a defender would have trouble with it, id think a troller and tank should have no prob, just would take them a bit longer to kill.

Ive been testing using only insperation that drops in the mission. I did use my DO's though, i am however gonna test with a new toon, a lowbie lvl 5 to see how it goes on that one.

its not how many ambushes that mater, its whats ambushing and how hard they are set, along with what mision difficulty is. Perhaps people wont be set to invici to feel thats the only way to make things fun now.

No.

They only trigger on the first instance of their conditions being met. Otherwise if the boss had a heal you could potentially trigger the same ambush over and over again, just by dealing a little damage and letting him heal back above the ambush threshold.
