Will not rating an arc really give it a 0 vote?

I'm stuck in a situation where I have to go soon and know I won't be able to finish an arc, but I'm not sure yet what exactly I'll want to rate it if I get the chance to play it again. I don't want to give a bogus rating, but I also don't want to lower their rating with 0 stars!

I haven't picked a star ranking, but it says You rated 0 stars!

If I don't pick stars, PLEASE tell me I just won't be registered with a vote! Thanks!

You don't have to abort it. It's like a TF. If you log out, you'll still be on the arc when you come back.

You'll lose progress in any current mission, of course.

As I understand it, you have to actually click 1 star then unclick it for the rating to be 0 stars.

Last time I rated something a zero it says "Rating?" in the "you voted" field; I'm not yet convinced it counts that kind of vote.

"I think you're confused. This is /b, not /b/."

This. Tested and confirmed by dev chatter as to how someone can vote zero stars -- just leaving it blank won't do it, you have to pick a rating and then UN-pick it.

You'd think "well, who would do that?" and the answer is "some people are doing that", also confirmed. And it does pull your overall down pretty hard.

I know I've done that on accident before I realised it counted as a 0 vote. I initially rated something that I hadn't finished and ended up thinking better of rating the thing until I got around to playing it again so I unclicked it and hit finish.

I've accidently 0 starred 2 arcs like that. 1 of them problably deserved it...

You can always restart an arc you accidentally misvoted on; revote; then quit. The newest and latest vote will count and the old vote will be thrown out.

I could. but I didnt want to rate it in teh first place.
