Lifetime Subscription: Who will buy?

These are some interesting ideas that I'm certain would NEVER fly. =-3

I'd love 'em! But people who AREN'T 63 month vets would get PISSED when they learn they get less time than vets.

If this game which has been running for 5 years suddenly offered a lifetime subscription that would tell me the game isn't going to be around much longer, and I'd start looking to play something else.

If the game was just starting out, then sure.

This Winter just passed, they offered two specials

6 months +1 free (~11.14 /month)
12 months +2 free (~10.24/month)

This to me was a good compromise marketing between a vet only sort of set-up and the strictly monthly.

For me, I was on the 12 month anyway, so I just got an extra 2 months free out of 14. I mean its not like I was going anywhere soon.

I can see where you are coming from and I'm sure that a number of people would have the same suspicions.

Based on some of the numbers I've seen in this thread....
$300 divided by ($15/month)=20 months.
$250 divided by ($15/mo.)= almost 17 Months worth.
$200 divided by ($15/mo.)= under 14 months.
At those prices, I would have to either see myself playing for well over those timeframes or have a guarantee that I will get something of at least that high of a value to me in return.

The Lifetime membership would have to come with something else as well. If they were planning a CoH2 and threw in a year of that when it comes out?
Send me a free decent-sized monitor? Heck, I've already paid almost 5 years....*grabs calculator* My $900 could have gotten me something nice.
Maybe a T-shirt and a keyboard?

I wouldn't. I can get bored with a game remarkably quickly, and I'd rather not pay that kind of money only to get bored and stop paying a month later.

Yeah! Now that I would jump on. If they released a CoH2 and offered a lifetime membership to CoH1 with the creation of a new account in CoH2 for $x.xx dollars. That I would buy, no problem.

I'd consider it, but for such a big upfront payment it'd be nice to get an outfit or a special costume part or, or something. And of course a badge. It's nice that we get an endless subscription, but an upfront payment of 300 bucks should deliver some small perks.

Yeah I think the ship has sailed on the idea of a Lifetime Subscription for this 5 year old game.
But if it were part of some deal for a guaranteed "CoH2" arrangement that might make it worthwhile to me.

I already pay annually for this game. For the lump sum that a Lifetime Subscription would likely cost that might be equivalent to 3 more annual payments. Is this game really going to be around for 8 years before it either stops OR has a major "CoH2" expansion? Hard to say.

I'd rather just keep on paying annually for the remainder of this game and worry about a Lifetime Subscription for a possible "CoH2" down the road.

5 years ago? Sure. Now? I don't think so. I'd be surprised (happily mind you) if this game was still around in 5 years, and I still wanted to play it.

I seem to remember reading somewhere that they have plans for this game for the next 5+ years. Its was sometime when ncsoft bought the full rights to coh/cov.
