FF/Elec

Im just starting to dabble into the world of PvP. I am a lvl 50 FF/Elec Def. I know my Dmg is lacking...a lot. Im not looking to become this super PvP God. I just want to be more of a major annoyance to anyone i encounter. Im not sure how to go about building my character to do that. Do i go for Burst Dmg? Do i go for heavy End Sapping? Do i go for HP or Recovry, regen? Obviously all of the above. But if anyone can point me in the right direction or has any advice on the build it would be greatly appreciated.

I better let someone more involved than I preach it to you, but you've got a decent combo, combining FF's lovely defense, and Electricity's utilities. Your damage won't be as bad as it was previously, due to increased damage across the AT board, but you should probably focus on single target.

KB is an amazing effect in PvP; Repulsion and Force bubbles will knock non-melee on their butts, and your toggles won't drop when mezzed/slept/etc.

VS is crippled in PvP now (1/2 the damage of Charged Bolts), but it can be handy as an IO mule.

Also, with enough recharge, you can make Power Build Up a mini-t9 with a short timer and no crash. Zapp becomes a highly viable t3 attack, as your defense will keep you from being interrupted.

I threw this together quickly just for the heck of it, it's by no means a "YOU MUST DO THIS HURRRR"...

Hmm...a BlapTrollFender...AS+Force Bolt for the lulz...

Eh, just noticed the +Accuracy is a little low, you might want to build into that more than this build did. But as it stands, you're sitting at ~27% defenses for every typed damage and positional damage, your resistances cap at 75% with just your EPP armor, you're only running the toggles you need, AND you've got 117.5% recharge. This build is a little expensive, so you can move things in/out/around.

Hope that helps some.

Is there a way to work with this? Is my ranged def still great in PvP? Any thouught on Building as a SAPPER?

Well, if you plan to solo PvP primarily, you can drop Deflection and Insulation Shields, as well as Repulsion Bomb. You generally won't have someone close at hand to use as a bomber, but the shields can help other players with random bubbling.

As for sapping, I have no experience along the lines of assaulting another player's endurance in i13, but most drains took a heavy hit. Even with PBU, Short Circuit will only drain ~50% of their end :/

Someone with more information should come along...

I've found that draining with Elec is pointless unless you have a recovery debuff to back it up like Heat Exhaustion or Drain Psyche. Short Circuit alone is not nearly enough.

With that said, I'd go with a more damaging secondary (i.e. Sonic or poc'ed Rad) if I were you because Elec's one trick pony won't work with FF and you'll just end up with half-[censored] drain and half-[censored] damage.

Unfortunitly its the only pony i have and it needs to work..even if i have to bolt a Nuke to its A55.. lol

Im not looking t be a PvP GOD.. just be able to hold my own.
Right now i feel like i get completly destroyed in PvP.

Well, FF is not a bad PvP set per se, not until they nerf PFF anyway. Elec is what's pulling you down, end drain just doesn't really work in PvP and even if you have recovery debuffs to back them off chances are you're gonna have a hard time staying alive long enough to completely drain your target due to DR and supression.

As far as your build is concerned, forget about draining anyone and concentrate in as much damage as possible. Drop one of your three travel powers and pick up Medicine, you might not get a lot of kills but at least you shouldn't die much with PFF + Aidself.

This build has Jump Kick and Flurry? Is it just for Set Bonus?
(sorry I very new to PvP, esp with the new changes that came in)

jump kick and flurry will do some decent damage in PvP now.

Quick note:

Repulsion Bomb has been, for the last year and a half, a straightup targetted AoE with no target cap, scale 1 damage (same as Neutron Bomb), knock down, and a chance to disorient.

It's long animation probably kills it for PvP, but it's a much better power than it used to be -- at least for PvE.

I am well aware of RB usefulness in PvE, but like you mentioned, in PvP its not as helpful.

But Miyabi, like many others, doesn't know of the changes.

Just trying to halt the spread of old info, and my post wasn't directed at you.

Most bubblers are for disruption more then dmg. Make sure you keep Force bubble up as much as possible. It messes up most stalkers AS......the only ones that should be able to get a AS of on you is WP or EA. Regen too only if he hits MOG...and he only has 15 seconds to do it. Make sure you just get everything that can disrupt...if i was you i would not slot for dmg ...but more for end drain. Especially target Regen stalkers in RV..99% of them don't take stamina and you will be able to drain them really fast. Make sure you take the elec pet too.
